My CEL had been on for quite sometime with OBD Code PO171. I tried cleaning the MAF sensor but did not solve the problem. I replaced the MAF sensor and still did not solve the problem. What else could cause this? I need to get this resolved to pass the SMOG test.

    Help anybody?

Jlee0135 is correct. Bank 1 sensor 1 is in the exhaust bank at the rear of the engine compartment next to the firewall. As a good general rule of thumb you can check the firing order of the engine and whichever side the #1 cylinder is on is the bank 1 side.

Need to remove oxygen sensor in bank 2 for lexus rx 300 where is it and how to removed

Bank 2 reffers to exhaust manifold where the # 2 cylinder lies. Depending on how many sensors you have on that side you will find the sensors there. The sensor clossets to the engine would be sensor 1 bank 2 and if you have another on bank 2 it be reffered as sensor 2 bank 2. The same applies for bank 1 sensors the one cossets to the engine is rtefferred to sensor 1 bank 1 and sensor 2 bank 1. Hope this helps.

your o2 sensor is bad. vsc will go on for any small DTC displayed on the MIL (cel)

P0037 LEXUS P0037 LEXUS - Oxygen Sensor Heater Control Circuit Low Bank 1 Sensor 2 Symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
Possible causes - Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 2 circuit open shorted to ground
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 2 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 2 circuit
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (H2OS) Bank 1 Sensor 2 circuit fuse
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM) When is the code detected? The P0037 is set when the ECM detects an excessively low voltage through the heated oxygen sensor heater circuit P0037 LEXUS Description Oxygen Sensors (O2S) or Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S) need to reach a minimum operating temperature of 750 degrees F to produce an accurate voltage signal. The faster the heated oxygen sensor reaches that temperature the faster the sensor will start sending an accurate signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM).

In order to achieve the require temperature, a heater element is included inside the heated oxygen sensor. The ECM controls the heated oxygen sensor heater element based on signals from the engine coolant temperature and engine load. The ECMcontrols the heater element circuit by allowing current flow to ground.

The ECM monitors the voltage signal received through the heater element circuit and determines the state of the circuit by comparing the voltage detected with the factory specifications.

Where is the coolant temparature sensor position?

The coolant temperature sensor is on the passenger side of the engine compartment located near the radiator hose connection to the engine. On the 2000 RX its a 2-wire connections with a brass washer used for sealing he sensor to the water outlet.

Where is the bank1 sensor1 on Lexus RX300? I am getting P1135 error. Confused about which sensor it is.

Bank one is the side that cylinder 1 is located. Sensor 1 is in front of the cat converter, sensor 2 is behind the converter. So Sensor 1 bank 1 is the RIGHT FRONT SENSOR.

Code p1130. where is the sensor located on a 2001 rx300 lexus

P1130 Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
This sensor is the hardest to get at. It is between the cat and the cylinder block on the bank of cylinders closest to the firewall. Not much wiggle room back there.
Sensor will run you about $225 from Toyota, $275 from Lexus, but you may be able to get a Denso sensor on line.

Good luck and hope this helps. keep me posted.
