Someone could have pushed the 4x4 low button accidently, it will not engage but the 4x4 will flash up on your dash. just push the 4x4 auto button and it should stop

The flashing light means there is a system problem with the automatic transmission. You will probably notice a lack of power when starting from a stop with this lamp flashing. The dealer or local mechanic should be able to scan for a fault code.

anytime a air bag is deployed, the air bag control module needs to be replaced. it is cheaper and easier to get a used one from the junk yard just make sure the explorer was not in a accident. it is located under the dash in the middle just where the ash tray is

Wont go in 4wd and light on dash doesnt come on

The 4-wheel drive module is bad. Common in these model years of Explorer. It is located up under the dash on the passengers side, about 5" box, mounted with 3- 1/4" screws. Unplug wiring harness. New module about $100, depending on where you locate it.

My 02 ford explorer 6cyl 4wd eddie b air bag light flashes 2 then 4 times for a total of 30. what is causing the light to stay on?

Try to locate the frontal sensor as this the terminals usually get corroded.Disconnect the battery and wait for 2 minutes before doing any repair just to discharge the backup power of the module.

2002 Ford Exlorer XLT

That year Explorer was notorius for rear ABS sensors going bad. If your ABS light is on as well this may be your problem. Also they were notorious for 4WD modules going bad. This problem is more expensive. I would advise you to have it checked on a computer to see what codes you have.

2002 Ford explorer 4x4 no current

try disconnecting and reconnecting 4x4 module. open glove box, bend the door stops in to the glove box to open the door fully. the module is black and has two connectors. located all the way to the right of the glove box. sometimes this will fix 4x4 issues but these are known for having bad modules.

My overdrive light is flashing indicating the overdrive is off

this could mean there is a problem with the transmission, but most times when OD light is flashing it is because the wiring to the OD switch is broken.
is the OD switch on the end of the gear shift lever ?
or does your vehicle have the shifter on console between seats ?

My overdrive light is flashing on and off

The O/D light flashing is an indication of a transmission electrical fault. The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the electronic sensors and actuators on the engine and PCM. If it finds a fault on these circuits, it will alert the driver. Since the O/D light is flashing, the fault is specific to the transmission. You'll will need to have the codes checked in the PCM before any repairs are attempted.
