Question about 2008 Toyota Tacoma
Need to reset 2008 Toyota Tacoma with the Low Pressure tire indicator light. Walmart does not have the tools to do it. There must be a simple way without paying through the nose for these little annoying items.
thanks in advance.
If you have the silver-metal valve cores, on the rims, there is NO reset proceedure. Under the valve cores is a transmitter, which is battery powered. It sends a "yes/no" signal to the tire pressure ECM. Note that ALL 5 tires transmit to the ECM. The signal is "at or above" the specific target pressure needed, or is is below the target pressure. What to do: get a GOOD tire pressure gauge, not those cheap ones that look like pencils. Set the tire pressures to the specification, INCLUDING the spare. Your light should go out. If not, there is the possibility that one of the sensors is innoperative, and that will involve a trip to the dealership, to get it replaced under warranty. Try the tire pressure resetting, adn don't forget the spare. Get back to me if this works. Glad to help, and thanks for choosing FixYA.

Have you tried checking the tire pressure for the spare tire yet? this has happen to me before and thought it was a technical problem. but found out it was the spare tire that was low pressure.

Les Schwab reset mine for free. That TPMS light was super annoying and they fixed it in 10 minutes.

I bought my 2006 Toyota Tacoma as a used unit and the owners manual was not in the truck. Can you tell me what the tire pressure guage indicator looks like? I have a light on my speedometer guage that looks like a sliced version of a tire and it has an exclamation point inside it. What does this indicated?
