Wont go into gear but tries to engage gear with clutch depressed

My saturn sl2 wont go into gear while running and when I try to put it into gear(any) it rocks like it thinks its an automatic. I turned it off put it into first and when I turned it on again it engaged first gear with the clutch depressed?! I checked the brake fluid in my hydraulic clutch resevoir and it was fine. Could there maybe be a leak somewhere and if so how do i? I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS WRONG PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.

I have a 1999 Saturn sl2...I am putting the car in first and it is not moving...it is a manual transmission... It won't move in any gear but it is not stalling out either...I do hear a clicking noise

if it is a cable clutch ,replace the cable as it is not allowing the clutch to engage
If it is hydraulic operation , replace the clutch master cylinder

Shift fork wont move/all hydrolics replaced

Just a suggestion here but my son was experiencing the same problem with his Toyota Celica. We replaced the clutch and throwout bearing and MC, had me stumped for days the I pulled back the rubber boot on the MC where the it comes through the firewall under the dash and saw that there was fluid leaking into the boot so basically the MC was bad an it was bypassing the metering valve causing the fluid not to push the slave cylinder all the way down for engagement. On another car ...a 97 Saturn SL it wouldn't shift into gear, also all new clutch components. Wound up being a bad top right side motor mount was bad. engine was sagging just enough to cause the clutch not to shift properly. I hope this helps.

I have a 2002 Saturn sl2 manual transmission when put into any gear it does nothing but rev up and make a clunking noise ...in all gears and I can let completely off the clutch with it still in gear and...

Sounds like a drive shaft but you would hear a clonking noise so it could be the clutch gone ,if i was their with it infront of me i could soon tell you the problem but from afar ? ask a local mechanic to have a look for you as this is one of them questions its impossible to give a correct answer

5 speed 1990 toyota 4wd,my transmission wont engage to first gear or reverse when engine is running but will in engage when engine is turn off

Sounds like the clutch is not releasing properly. If it grinds when trying to delect reverse this will be the case. It may be a hydrolic fault or the clutch itself. Check to see if the slave cylinder rod is actuating when the pedal is depressed.Check for loss of fluid.

After being stored clutch willnot engage

do you mean wont disengage? does the pedal feel normal, or like its pushing nothing?cant put it in gear? or goes in gear but wont move?. if you put it in gear but car wont move, the clutch is toasted. if you can put it in gear with the engine off, but not when its running, check the clutch master fluid. if its low or out, then the slave or master is leaking and you will need to replace both. if the clutch arm IS working, and the pedal feels normal, sometimes you can put in gear, and start it with the clutch pedal depressed and drive it, and goose the gas to "break the disc loose"

My 1992 saturn sl2 wont go into gear when i let up on the cluch its like it doesnt in engadge and wont move? what could the problem be?

Most Likey It's a clutch problem or I have seen a axle shaft broken in between the rubber damper on the axle shaft.More than likely a clutch concern.

97 Saturn SL2 won't turn over

Check the neutral-saftey switch.  If it is a clutch, the starter will generally engage and the car will generally lurch forward.  Most newer cars are equiped with a switch that detects when the car is in-gear & wont permit it to turn over.  Could be the clutch but go for the cheap fix first.
