What is cost to replace valve cover gasket on 2002 dodge neon?

To replace the valve cover gasket shouldn't be that expensive. Although those cars are known for blown head gaskets, so I would have them look carefully at the back of the engine for an oil leak. If it is leaking oil out of the head, it is only a matter of time before the head gasket will be pushing anti-freeze. Please rate my answer so I get points for it.

I am getting my heater core replaced in a 2004 Dodge neon at a shop in Washington, DC. The guy is charging $800 to repair. Is this a reasonable price?

Hi,
Sounds high to me. The heater core is less than $100 and it is about 6 hours labor. So he is charging you around $115 an hour. I would say a regular mechanic would be no more than $50 and hour at high price, so the job should be more like $400.....I can do one in around 4 hours myself......Mike

2.5 hours labor and $154.00 for the pump and other parts like coolant, so at my local labor rates the job here would go out the door for about $400.00

2007 F-250 HP Oil Leak (6.0 Powerstroke)

Comming from an international dealer I can not tell you exact labor rate from a for dealership in your area but I can give you a general idea. We normally get 1.7 hours for diagnostics. Usually a HP oil leak can take longer but we normally eat the rest of the labor. Then you can expect around 3 hours to r/r all injector o-rings if that is the problem, if you do this have them replace the crank case to head tubes with the updated tube. If it is a HP pump issue to replace the pump it could be 3 hours, could be 7 hours, this will depend on any access issues to the pump. If they replace the pump have them update the STC fitting from the pump to the branch tube. This may be the problem anyway and if they replace the STC fitting it would be around the same amount of labor. Now if your branch tube is cracked they will have to pull the trans, rear housing, rocker arms, and a lot of other things, this is the big one, close to 16 hours. Now figure on around $100 labor rate and do the math. This doesn't even include the parts.

My water pump on my caravan is going out

I checked a couple of sites and they all listed between 3-3.8 hours labor. Depending on the market you are in labor is generally + or - $65 an hour. The water pump should run around $70 (guesstimate). In all honesty I would have the belts checked and replaced if needed at the same time. Most places will charge you very little if any additional labor because they have to take them off anyway. The belts should not be all that expensive and if possible buy them yourself ahead of time. I hope this helps
