Turn the key on for at least 20 mins or so, the security light should stop flashing. This is very common for these cars. turning the key on and leaving it on for 20 mins resets the security system. When the "security system" on these cars activates, all it does is shut the electric signal to the fuel injectors off, the fuel pump still kicks on and you still have spark, but the injectors dont shoot fuel. If the turning on for 20 mins dont work, you will likely need a whole new ignition, and you take the inside out of yours and put it in the new one so you re-use your key. hope this helps

Where are the fuses located for alarm system on 1999 pontiac grand prix

The security system doesn't have a separate fuse. It can't be disabled by the owner without rewiring the whole system. It can be bypassed if the VATS module is not defective by following the instructions at this website.

I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee. the alarm goes off whenever i open the door if the vehicle has been locked the alarm stops when i start the vehicle i only have a key, no remote any ideas on how to fix...

If ithe alarm is factory when they will have to reset the alarm module with a scanner. If the alarm if aftermarket go to the control module and see if it has a reset button. FOBs (remote) can reset alarm. You Jeep is always set for break-in mode. The FOB sets this when ever the FOB is used to lock the doors. May be bad alarm module - Sorry - Good luck
