Replace Factory Radio in 2001 Kia Sportage

I am trying to replace the radio but I cannot find a way to access the compartment to get at the screws. The radio is just an AM/FM Cassette player with a spacer compartment right below it. I tried to remove the spacer but it does not come out easily and I do not want to damage it

I would check and see if you need to replace a blown fuse. You could disconnect the battery temporarily to reset the radio. You may have to have your radio repaired or replaced by a professional.

Check the fuse in the fuse box located on the inside drivers side bottom left of the dash. Pull the radio fuse which you can locate by looking on the back of the fuse panel door. Replace it with a fuse rated at the same amperage as the one you remove. Let me know if you have already done this and I will try to help you further. Please rate me on this answer.

There is usually a fuse in the radio itself,or in the radio harness .Also when you check the fuses there are two in the car-one for the always on power and one for the ignition power to the radio.Check the operaters manual to see which ones you need to check. If the radio need to come out you should be able to find the anchor nut under the radio knobs, they just pull off.Good luck.

The radio on my 2001 Kia says ''HOLD''

How long did you leave the battery on hooked. Radio codes are usually written in the owners manual by the dealership. Look in your owners manual in the radio section to see if it tells you anything about (HOLD).

YOU DONT HAVE TO REMOVE THE RADIO TO CHECK THE SPEAKERS. I JUST HAD NEW SPEAKERS PUT IN AND HE JUST CUT THE WIRES FROM THE FACTORY SPEAKERS AND REPLACE THEM.THE FACTORY SPEAKERS CONNECTION IS MADE DIFFERENT THAN THE REPLACMENT SPEAKERS

How do you remove Audio-CD player from a 2002 Kia Sportage

after you remove all the screws from the dash you have to get down to a section by the pedals and remove something like the airbag to get at the last part of the dash apart. then you need to unplug the mirror and back wiper switches (opt i think). then you have access to your radio. These are all things i gathered from watching the guy at futureshop do, it was about $100 and now I don't have fm radio. but I am now going to try it on my own.
