I am having a similiar problem, Idles "ok" but as soon as you put the car in gear, it acts as if it is flooding, put the car in neutral, after 1 sec of sputtering it is clear. No check engine lights or anything. I've added seafoam and nothing has changed. I have actually been stranded where the car stalls and will not start for an hour or so. Any ideas?

thank you Shanker. i am actually working on the car right now, changing out filter and pump as it is showing failing on the gauge, but I also think there is something wrong on the ignition side.

While you are checking all of that, double check your thermostat and make sure it is good and operational. My thermostat in my trans am was stuck wide open and wasn't getting heat and acting the same as yours. I put the new thermostat in it, and it runs in tip top shape. If the thermostat is good, your temp sensor on your motor is bad, look into that.

Hope this helps you out.

You should check your timing and make sure you're getting good spark. fuel could also be the issue, filter or injectors. There are a few different things it could be but i would check ignition related issues first

94 jeep grand cherokee. starts, idle. throw warmup. as soon as I touch the excellerator let up the rpm drop & engine stalls.

Most low idle speed problems on these engines are due to a faulty idle air control valve but since you state the idle will go up and return to idle then i would say it is working properly i think you have a throttle body coking problem ( dirt and grit accumulates around the butterfly valve in the throttlebody ) to fix this simply remove the fresh air hose from the throttlebody and open the throttle all the way up use a clen rag and wipe clean you may use a solvent such as B12 on the rag but dont use too much 1_4_2013_4_54_06_am.jpg

I have 1999 firebird V6 Engine. The gas pedals will not excellerate.

Check your throttle linkage cables to make sure they are connected correctly to the throttle valve. If they are then take off your air filter tube, start your car leave it in park and have someone rev the engine to see if the throttle valve opens or not.

Stalls when excellerating

i would do a few things here, simply spend $8 on some injector cleaner to break down carbon deposits, then try replacing the fuel filter, lastly, get the timing checked, plug gaps {new plugs} clean oxygen sensor in exhaust then lastly get the fuel pump pressure checked at a mechanics, all in that order untill it works, Good luck

It seems the vacuum modulator could be faulty or the throttle preasure cable has slipped and is out of adjustment.
