How do I remove door panel switch to test?

    MY QUESTION ON HOW TO REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL SWITCH WAS NOT ANSWERED BUT THANKS FOR TRYING.

Most of the time the element in the seat is bad causing the no operation, usually the light will come on and go out or just with no operation.

Heated Seats
This system allows the electrical heating of the front seats on passenger demand.
The components of the system are:
  • the seat heating elements located in the seat cushion and backrest.
  • the heated seat control switch, located on the seat side trim panel.
  • temperature sensors located in the seat cushion heating elements.
  • heated seat relay.
Do both front seat heaters not work ? Do you know how to test electrical circuits with voltmeter ?
PINPOINT TEST J: THE HEATED SEAT IS INOPERATIVE Test Step Result / Action to Take J1 CHECK HEATED SEAT SWITCH OPERATION
  • Key in ON position.
  • Press the heated seat switch on the driver and passenger seats.
  • Are both heated seat switch indicators illuminated?
Yes
If both indicators illuminate, Go To Pinpoint Test K . If only one indicator illuminates, GO to J5 .

No
GO to J2 . J2 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT RELAY CIRCUITS
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: Heated Seat Relay C3250 (located under the driver seat).
  • Key in ON position.
  • Measure the voltage at heated seat relay C3250-86, circuit 1003 (GY/YE), harness side and ground; and between C3250-30, circuit 566 (DG), harness and ground.

  • Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to J3 .

No
REPAIR inoperative 1003 (GY/YE) or 566 (DG) circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. J3 CHECK HEATED SEAT RELAY GROUND CIRCUIT
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Measure the resistance between heated seat relay C3250-85, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground.

  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to J4 .

No
REPAIR circuit 57 (BK). TEST the system for normal operation. J4 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT RELAY
  • Install a fused jumper lead between heated seat relay 3250-30, circuit 566 (DG), harness side and heated seat relay C3250-87, circuit 1064 (YE/LB), harness side.

  • Do both heated seat indicators illuminate when pressed?
Yes
INSTALL a new heated seat relay. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR circuit 1064 (YE/LB) to switches. TEST the system for normal operation. J5 CHECK INOPERATIVE HEATED SEAT SWITCH INPUT
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: Heated Seat Switch C320 (Driver) or C321 (Passenger) for the inoperative heated seat.
  • Key in ON position.
  • Measure the voltage between heated seat switch C320-2 (driver) or C321-2 (passenger), circuit 1064 (YE/LB), harness side and ground .

  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to J6 .

No
REPAIR circuit 1064 (YE/LB). TEST system for normal operation. J6 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN

REPAIR circuit 57 (BK). TEST the system for normal operation It's not that simple , being a fuse . It's probably the relay or the heating element .

You need to take the door panel off , check for power ,voltage at the door lock/unlock switch ! Is power going through the switch an coming out going to lock actuator inside the door ! My passenger side electric window stopped working on my 1991gmc sierra 1500. The passenger side switch panel don't work for the window but works for the lock. Driver side master switch doesn't work for the...


The odds of both switches going bad at the same time is high, remove the door panel and tap on the window motor with a hammer, while trying the switches. I may have jammed up. Ground a test light and check the motor connection, while trying the switch, power will show on either side depending on if it turning up or down

The most likely culprit is your driver's door control module... it's built into the driver's window switches. Double-check all your fuses before replacing any parts.

I have a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada...Yesterday all of a sudden my passenger's side window stop working(up and down)...the power lock and the heated seat all stop working on my passenger's side...?


If you have an Owners manual, try looking for a fuse panel diagram. Your could have a bad connection inside the doorpanel which shorted the fuse. The seat drive motor must be wired to a separate circuit coming from the floorboard and its okay.
The circuits are wired independently to protect the lighter wires from the heavy drain of the seat motor. If you had the heated seat function working on the seat at the same time as adjusting the seat motor it would be too much for a single circuit, so they gave you two circuits.

If you are going to work on the door panel, disconnct the NEG battery cable so you won't short out something taking it apart.

Another Repair place you might try is a Glass Replacement shop. They install the inner workings of window tracks daily and remove the door panels to do it. They would be able to find your wires, test your window motor, and get you on your way quickly.

Unlike a Dealership, they have a high turnover of glass installations daily. Some even come to your house to repair your problem. Your car would be repaired more quickly with these services.

Heater doesn't blow out warm, cold only. Fan and air conditiong work fine. Appears heater core is ok. Is there some kind of switch that possible broke inside the dash/


yes, the blend door actuator may have failed. So are the heater hoses hot going into the firewall? I assume that is why you say the core is OK.

To check the blend door,
  1. Remove the lower trim panel from the passenger side of the instrument panel.
  2. Disengage the trim panel from the passenger side of the center console.
You should be able to see the actuator there. Try changing the temperature setting to see if the gear turns in the actuator. If not, remove the actuator and see if you can rotate the blend door shaft by hand. If the door is jammed, you may have to take the heater box out to free it up. If the door works OK by hand, either the actuator is bad or the switch is bad. If you could hear the actuator clicking when you were checking it, it is getting power but is stripped. If it was not clicking, I recommend you verify there is power to the actuator by probing the connector with a test light while changing the temperature setting. If there is no voltage, the switch may have failed. If you have questions, please let me know.

Passenger side window stuck in down position


Volcompunker is on track.... if it is a stuck motor problem, before taking door apart, try this...it may work, works well on dodge caravans...

NO COST and fast PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:

1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.

7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

Remove inside panel pass.side door of 2001 Dodge gr.caravan sport


1, Disconnect the able from negative terminal of the battery.
2. Pry the courtesy light from the door trim and disconnect the wire connector..
3. Remove all door trim panel retaining screws and door pull armrest assemblies.
4. Remove the door switch panel and the control switch panel and the control switch assembly.
5. On models with memory seats/mirrors, use small-flat bladed pry tool to remove and disconnect the wire.
6. Grasp the trim panel lift up and pull out to detach it from the door. Disconnect the inner door handle lock rod from the handle. Unplug any electrical connectors remaining and remove the door panel.
7. To install, connect the wire harness connectors and place the panel in position in the door. Press the trim panel down into place until the hooks are seated.
8. Install the armrest/door pulls, the courtesy light and the window switch'
9. Reconnect the battery


Also. You will need star pattern drivers to remove the window and motor from your door. If you have all the equipment it should only take you 1 hour.
