Question about Mercury Cougar
67 mercury cougar 302 has basic wiring (no computers) has no fire at coil but has power to it. I tried a new coil but same problem, can it be in ignition switch or?
When you turn the key on you put juce to the coil and the points in the dist. open and shut closing the field causing spark. so i would say you need new points.
to get by you could clean them but usualy they wont last long after you clean them.
