2001 Yukon Interior Lights

Interior light would not turn off after hard rain. Dried the sensors. Had to take to dealership where they removed the fuse. Now, when we put fuse back in - no interior lights at all.

Please respond as soon as possible.

2000 gmc yukon no rear tail lights but brake light works

I had the same problem with my 2000 Yukon. I disassembled the tail light and pulled the bulb contact strip out. The dielectric grease on the sockets were dried up and hard. It had caused a loose connection and overheated the plastic. I managed to clear the old grease out with a pick tool and brake cleaner. I put in new grease and it still works. I noticed later that Advance Auto has the contact strip for sale. I hope this helps.

Interior Lights Flash On and Off By Themselves

Pull one door sensor at a time and test. They get compressed too far and eventually no longer open the circuit. If you find a switch compressed too far, just replace it...

Door switches are self adjusting, to allow for differences in jamb tolerance... Start with driver's door.

2001 GMC Yukon power drain

Hi. I have posted a procedure below that will help you isolate the actual drain. follow carefully.

Here is the procedure I use to isolate a battery drain. Remove negative battery cable from the battery. Using a 12-volt test light, hook one end to the negative battery post the other end to the negative battery cable you just disconnected. The test light will glow or "light" if there is a drain. If the "light or glow" is faint, that is probably normal draw for the clock or computer. If the "light or glow" is bright, then there is a large drain. That should be corrected. Now start removing and replacing the fuses one by one until the light goes out; that one will be the circuit with the drain. Remember to hold in the button in the door jam for the interior lights.
