It is easy, you remove the center Diff in the transmission and you weld it then reinstall it, and remove the front CV shaft and you know have a RWD celica

Redlightenin, anything is possible but due to chassis configuration it is a major undertaking,it would be more feasible to find a rolling chassis that is a dimensional fit and make the driveline mods required good luck ya gotta love hotrodders

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

WHERE IS THE BANK 1 SENSOR 2 LOCATED?

If you mean O2 sensor, bank 1 is the driver's side on RWD, or front bank on FWD. The #2 sensor is the one behind the catalytic converter, which does little but telling the ECU if the converter is doing its job.

Automatic Transmission on 2001 6cyl. RWD

Sounds like overdrive or the torque converter is going out. The torque converter goes into lock up then the trans goes into overdrive.
Your owners manual should have a diagram of the engine compartment showing the dipstick. Is the check engine light on ?

Want to change to rwd

Front drive could (theoretically) be disconnected by removing the front half-shafts, blocking the shaft exit points and welding the bevel gears in the center differential. Wouldn't want to try that, though...

Head gasket gone

Yes. It's a real pain in the ***. You're going to have to remove the intercooler from the top of the engine. Just be glad it's an air-to-air intercooler, not an air-to-water "charge cooler" like mine. Once it's off (pour some gas in it and swill it around to give it a bit of a clean), you can start getting the bolts out to get the head off. Take the spark plugs out first. I don't *think* you need to remove the inlet manifold on this car.

For further help & advice go to gt4oc.net. You don't have to pay for a subscription, there's plenty of resources and if you post nicely in the free area someone is bound to lend a hand. If you're going to be doing a lot of self maintenance on your GT4, it's probably worth the $$ for membership!

1988 Toyota Celica GT4 Computer box

There is no problem with your computer box, it says 3S-GT on it, thats the way toyota did them back then. same with the 3S-FE (says 3S-F on the comp. box) and 3S-GE (3S-G on comp. box.) i dont recommend removin the cat. you will get defected (or waht is equivelant to a defect where you are) due to smog and stuff like that. Turbo timer is wired to the igntion system, no problems there. and as for gauges: get a pro to install them, but there should be zero trouble.
