Question about 1993 Lincoln Town Car

93 Lincoln TC Intermittant humming noise.

My 93 TC is doing the same thing. I found that the 1/2 rubber hose thatconnects to the driver side of the throttle assembly is where the humcomes from. It connects to a metal tube that then goes down between thefirewall and motor to who knows where. I can disconnect it from thethrottle assembly and it hums as loud as a fog horn. It only does itfrom time to time. And also seems to cause an periodic enginerev.Whatever this hose goes to it sucks air down it hard. I haven'tfound any leaks or cracks in the hose, so anyone out there know why allthe noise and how to fix it.

I replaced the Idle Control Valve and that solved the problem. Inside the ICV is a rubber grommet on a spindle that separates two channels of air. When its in the closed position and the rubber seal is old, the air is pulled through it and that is what causes the humming noise. Also the reason for the periodic engine rev.
PS. Online sites said to remove the wiper blade/control housing to get to it. You don't need to do that if you have some patience and just unplug a few things around it and reach into it.

2004 Lincoln Navigator with D1R HID lights. The passenger side comes on fine. The drivers side comes on for a couple of seconds then shuts of. It makes a humming noise while it's on. Bought an Autozone...

Your bulb could be bad. With gloves or a plastic bag covering your fingers, remove and switch bulbs to see if problem moves and follows the bulb. If problem is still on Drivers side, I believe these high energy systems used 2 headlight relays, one for each side. Could be you changed the wrong relay(you did not say if you replaced a bulb or relay).

Tail lights not working

I had the exact same problem with my 93 Lincoln TC. Replace the switch under the drivers side dash or take to a auto repair shop which is what I did.

Loud humming noise from air valve intake

a rat is in the air box. why not look,
or squirrel or bird,
use a rubber hose to ear. find exact part that hums.
then post a photo of the exact part,
keep in mind , no body here can here it or use the hose.
only you.
i also use a $5 stethoscope from harbor Fright (pun) and find any thing
well , my steelman electronic ear is even more better.
but the best bang for the bucks is 10cent hose.
i can find vacuum leaks and noise on anything . just a hose.

Water on passenger side floor

If it's just water, then the drain from the heater box may be plugged. On the lower part of the firewall on the passenger's side theres a drain tube, this may be plugged with leaves, etc. Find and clean the junk out, you will have to do this from under the car, careful as the water will drain out and get you wet.
If the " water " is coolant [ you should smell it ] then the heater core has failed and needs to be replaced.

Where do i recharge ac on a 2001 lincoln ls we only found i line

The one charging port is at the front of the engine compartment, look around the top right side of the radiator. The other one is at the back of the AC compressor, and can be found from underneath by removing the small splash shield in the front of the drivers side wheelwell.

96 lincoln town car- loud humming noise

I had experienced the same problem with my 93 TC. I'll try to make it short. Replace the Idle Control Valve. Cost me $50 at AutoZone. It has a electronic plunger that has a rubber o ring on the end of it. It separates two air chambers inside the valve. When the rubber gets old and the plunger is suppose to cut off the air coming in from one chamber to the other, the air gets sucked between the chambers across the old rubber causing the humming noise. That is also why the engines revs up and down and wont idle right. It is located between the firewall and the back of the motor just to the left (drivers side) of the throttle control assembly. When you look up on the internet on how to replace it, it will tell you to remove all the housing surrounding the wiper blade control arms and assembly so that you can access it. If you take your time, just remove some of the hoses and wires connected around it and you can access it without removing all that ****. Only has two screws to it that point up and can be reached with a ratchet and extension. Car runs great now and finally got rid of that noise.
