I can help you with this problem step by step remove the wheel one at a time. after removing wheel look behind the rotor for a 8 or 10 mm bolt or an allen head screw remove both of these. Then pry the brake housing up and off of the rotor once off look at both pads the one near the round cylinder may be different than the one in front make sure you look at both pads where they are while removing them. Once removed the rear pad where the cylinder is behind it needs to be pushed all the way in flush with the rubber carefully not tearing the rubber around it. Reinstall your pads in the same location they were in put the caliper back over the rotor there will be little room between the pads for this you may have to push hard. Once on put the 2 bolts back it tightly not over tight they do break. put back on your tire let it down then go inside and pump the brake pedal 2 to 4 times until hard then do the other tire. one at a time and look for anything left on the ground when done there should be only 2 bad pads nothing else. if you need further assistance during the procedure. my email is [email protected] request chat mention brakes in subject we will go from there.

SOURCE: how do I replace brake pads on 2003 ford focus?

if you have rear disc brakes all you have to do is take the two bolts off and lift the caliper off and pull the pads out but now if you have drums there is a rubber boot behind the whole drum assembly take it out use a screw driver or a brake tool to back off the tension of the shoes

SOURCE: focus rear brake cylinder

it is usually a 8mm spanner but thruogh time they corrode down have you got a pair of vise grips if you do use them to grab bolt & slacken that way would also advise to replace rear wheel cylinder bolts too.

SOURCE: replace rear brakes adjust handbrake

The hand brake hardly ever needs ajusting. See your hand brake mechanincly spreads your rear brake shose inside the drum. Therefore just replace your rear shoes and make sure there ajusted right and you should have no more problems with that part of your car. PS make sure you put some 3M paste on the contact points on your backing plate to avoid a squeak in the near future.

SOURCE: how to replace rear brake pads

Jack up car, remove wheel. There are two bolts that hold the caliper on. Remove these. Caliper comes off, take old pads out. There is a special tool to compress the piston back into the caliper (do not use a C Clamp on the rears.) Put new pads back on, re-install the caliper, and put the wheel back on. Pump the brake pedal until it is firm. Done.

SOURCE: how do you change rear brake light bulb in a Ford

You will need to look in trunk and pull back the covering over the light area on the side you need to replace. Once exposed, look for the wires going into the light housing and twist the plug to unlock it and remove the bulb. Twist and remove the old bulb or Pull the bulb out of the socket. Reverse the process to install the new bulb and replace the socket.

What tools do I need to change brake pads on ford focus 2008

A few of these poster are making assumption's on what model 2008 Focus the question is directed. Actually on a Ford Focus S with a 2.0 liter the caliper is held on by 2 metric bolts.
I believe the caliper housing is held on by a 15 mm bolt, and you might need a 17mm to hold the caliper pins from spinning.
A 2008 Focus has no removable spring, just a spring plate that the brake pad rides in.
Remember to loosen the bleeder line with a 10mm when you compress the caliper to get rid of the excess fluid or take off the cap to the master cylinder, so the pressure will not damage the master cylinder. Make sure and clean the caliper slides with brake cleaner and lubricate them with a good non-petroleum base grease.

Changing rear brake pads on 2008 Ford Taurus and a threaded rod located within the caliber piston prevents compression of piston back into the caliber.

You need a special tool for rear pads. The pistons have to be turned in, there is either slots or holes in the piston for the tool to fit in, then just turn the piston clockwise and push a little at the same time.
Just turn them in far enough for the new pads to slide over the rotor.

Whot is the differance betwean a rear disc hub and a rear drum hub on a 99 focus

the only difference between a disc and a drum brake is that with a disc brake is that the brake pads are being squeezed into the disc to stop and with a drum brake the brake pads are being pushed on the inside of the drum to stop the vehicle

2001 Focus zx3 rear brakes- pads or drums???

If they look like a smaller version of your front brakes where you can see the disc (should be shiny on the side of the disc where the pad touches the rotor) then you have disk brakes.

If it's all black, or all kinda of rusted looking and all you see is a "cap" over everything behind the rim, then it'll be a drum...

95% of the zx3's have drums
only 5% of zx3's had discs. The ones that have disc brakes, also came with traction control as part of the package.

How do you ajust handbreak cabel on ford focus 1.6 3 door year 2004

The tightness of the handbrake is a function of the adjustmnent of the rear brakes. If the rear brakes are working properly, the handbrake adjustment will be correct. I would change the rear brake pads first, before I tried anything else. Worn pads or nonfunctioning adjusters are the likely culprit.
If you do not want to repalce the rear brakes, you can find the instructions for tightening the handbrake on a website called Focushacks.com. But, if you make the modification (I don't recommend it) you will have to change it back when you get around to changing the rear pads.
