Front is struts, replace them. Rear can be shocks or axle/case springs. Or the shackles/bushings. If the frame is rusted threw, junk it.

SOURCE: I have a 19 89 Chevrolet Astro Van and Veterans

check with your local auto parts store. They should be able to get you a shock called a load leveler. It will be a shock that has a coil on it. I have installed several of these on astro and safari vans to help with trailer towing. I know Monroe makes these and are the better shock manufacturer in my opinion.

They will look simular like this

Will the rear end off a 99 astro van fit a 96 Blazer

The compatibility of parts between different vehicle models can be complex and may depend on various factors such as the specific trim levels, options, and design changes made by the manufacturer between model years. In the case of the rear end (rear axle assembly) of a 1999 Astro Van and a 1996 Blazer, it's possible that there could be some compatibility, especially if both vehicles share the same platform or chassis components.
However, it's important to note that even if the physical dimensions and mounting points seem to align, there could be differences in things like gear ratios, suspension setups, and brake configurations that might affect the overall compatibility and performance of the parts.
For accurate information, it's recommended to consult with experts or mechanics who have experience with both vehicles or to contact a dealership or parts supplier that specializes in these vehicles. They can provide more precise information based on the specific models and options you have.

Where are yhe fuses located on a 2000 chevy astro van located

Have you checked your freon level? The compressor will not engauge when the R134 level is too low .More than likely you need to recharge the system after 14 yrs you may have a small seal leak. Try picking up a recharge kit with a gauge attachment. This has worked well for me on my 3 Astros I currently own. Othwise the fuse box is on the drivers side left of the steering column.

How many quarts of transmission fluid does my 1999 chevy astro van require?

1999 CHEVROLET TRUCKS ASTRO VAN 4.3L 6-cyl Engine Code [W]
CAPACITIES: Automatic Transmission, 4L60-E Initial Fill..........4.7 liters
Automatic Transmission, Total Fill 4 speed 4L60-E..........10.6 liters

To check fluid level, transmission should be hot and engine running at idle. Pull the transmission dip stick out "red" wipe clean and re-insert. Check level of transmission fluid as indicated on the dip stick using the second reading and make sure the Astro is parked on leveled ground. Add Dexron III or VI as needed and do not over fill.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck

Our 2001 Chevrolet Astro Van heater not working?

Could be a bad heater core, any fluid leaking around it...check under the carpet and padding if you don't see anything under it on the ground. Your coolant may also be low, and it isn't circulating to the heater core, or a vacuum line may be off the hot/cold gate on the heater box, there are a lot of possible causes, but i would check for leaks and fluid level first

If the cable from the shifter to the transmission is moving the arm on the transmission and the unit is full, chances are you transmission has failed.
