Question about 2001 Audi TT
I have a 2001 Audi TT, Over the past few weeks i have noticed the motor's fan does not turn on when i power off the car, and i have needed to add water almost daily. I hecked the fuses today and when I removed the fuse for the water punp the fan came on, but switches off as soon as i replace the fuse, tried different fuse with same result.

fan motor has a thermal switch which turns on the fan as soon as the engine heats up. what happened there is that the switch is stuck on the closed position which keeps the fan on all the time. you should go to a garrage and have the part changed.

SOURCE: Audi TT fuse box
It is in the end of the dash board. open the drivers door so you can see the end of the dash and ease the semi circle shaped cover off. There is a fuse pulling tool in there too ;o

I would suggest you check oil levels etc. Generally these cars suffer from the air mass meter / air sensor problems aswell as coil problems too. Did you ever get a solution to the problem?

Had a similar problem audi come into my shop. No headlights, blower motor would not work, wipers would not work. After dinking around found ignition switch wires had burn't up. Remove top steering column by taking out two very small philips screws from under column. Look at top LH side of column w/ top cover removed. Probably will find wires burnt up.
