Hello everybody, I have a problem with my 2001 Mazda 626. While I'm driving in traffic it's overheating, and I can see the temperature scale raising almost to the top. I've already tried adding a cooling liquid- the radiator is full but it's still overheating. The thermostat was changed twice, and nothing helped. There is no drain of cooling liquid- the radiator was already checked under pressure and the cooling fan is working for a very long time. Please help me!

if our engine run at 82 celcius there no reason its start boiling when you turn it off its normal for temp to raise when you turn off the engine but to start boilling thats mean our temp is higher then 84 degre check our gauge manuelly check the temp with a thermometer directly in the radiator and compare with the gauge that mean the faster you go colder its get so the radiator does its job but what weird it goes up at lower speed so not enought air goes trough the radiator are you missing a front spoiller that redirect the air to the radiator if you raise the boots you gonna have to raise the cooling capaciter of the car check it out let me no. . pierre

Reving the engine increases the fan speed cooling the radiator more check your thermostat it is stuck closed

All i can think of is the thermostat is not opening. or you may have a clog somewhere preventing the flow. Check the T-stat and hoses and radiator ( for clogs) Good luck

I am realizing that the cooling fan in this car is very important. It has two in case you didn't notice. The driver side fan motor is bad in mine and the only result is poor air conditioner performance in stop and go traffic. It's fine at high speeds. I would think the thermostat is likely the culprit in your case, but if the fans are not working at all, you should get those replaced. The motors may be bad in both, which could definitely cause overheating. I've been researching prices and you should be able to get the parts for less than $100 each and installation is just a couple of bolts on each assembly.
