Compressor makes a loud squeeky noise - 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Sounds like the bearing or part of the clutch in the A/C compressor has failed, or possibly component on a/c fouling on something due to recent repairs however would be unlikely and probably just a coincidence..

Check A/C compressor turns by hand, should be firm but not make any noises.

Check for fouling components related to a/c compressor clutch.

Is the whining noise coming from the engine compartment where the compressor is located or is the noise coming from inside the car? If the noise if coming from inside the car it could be your blower. When a blower wears down the bushing is the first thing to wear down and it begins to have play. That makes the blower/fan vibrate making a loud whining noise. Replacing the blower could solve that whining noise.
If the noise if coming from the AC compressor, it also could be a bad bearing within the compressor.

I have a2004 mustang with a 3.9 making the same noise,and the shop replaced the AC compressor and all belt tensioners. I found that the noise is the timing chain tensionors .

could be the fan but more than likley its the belt that drives your fan try some belt dressing or change the belt if worn.

This could be 1or 2 things. It could be the belt, or a pulley making the noise. There is a product called 'belt dressing' that can be sprayed on the belt (it's an aerosol spray can) which may solve your problem. The problem is usually the belt becomes 'glazed' and a slight slippage can make the noise you describe. The belt dressing provides a better grip If you have to reapply the dressing often, it may be time to change the belt to stop to squeak. The other possibility is a bearing on the pulley shaft is making the noise, most likely in the ac compressor. It can be annoying, but won't harm anything at this point.

oh ok, you probably have air shocks and that is the compressor running... makes sense that it sounds with the engine off... it should not be a loud sound though, normally it's quite quiet and you only hear a faint noise... if it is that loud it's probably a bad compressor
