Engine light on want to change 02 sensors
The O2 sensor on your Buick is located on the rear (under windshield cowl side of your exhaust manifold...You might be able to spray injector cleaner on it after removal...use PB Blaster to lubricate before removing the nut...also have you tried running some gas tank fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank recently? Sometimes this will help the sensor to work properly. To clear your "check engine light" you need to disconnect the positive side of your battery cable for about 15 minutes, then reconnect...the light should stay off if all is OK...Hope this helps.
YOU NEVER DISCONNECT THE POSITIVBE CABLE OF THE BATTERY!!! ALWAYS THE NEGATIVE. WHO TOLD YOU THIS?
And there are TWO oxygen sensors in a Rendezvous, an upstream and a downstream. If you are going to buy the part yourself, that's what they are called. And they are actually both the exact same part, but one has a longer cord (cannot remember which one needs the longer cord).
Just make sure to double check the actual connectors on the sensors in your vehicle before ordering. Some have female connectors, some have male, so you will find several O2 sensors that "work" for your Rendezvous, but only visually confirming the connector type in yours will tell you which one is the RIGHT sensor for yours.
you have sensor 1 and or sensor 2 one above the cat converter one below [sen2] but they are not the same one is ho2[heated] --other o2 your also answering archive questions this one is 9yrs old

Usually answered in minutes!
Do not replace the sensors until I look at the code, it very rarely that these sensors fail. PLease post the code you got on the test.
You can disconnect either battery post to get the same result...Many old school mechanics recommend disconnecting the positive side for safety.
