1996 dodge caravan engine replacement Parking light issue

Hello before we had to replace the engine we had no problems at all with any electicral system. No obd codes or check engine or anything.

Since the engine got replaced the car runs fine but we didn't notice till after it got dark. We turned on head lights / parking lights the Relay to bcm was clicking loudly. We checked the relay and all the fuses and under the hood ones to with a test light. Everything was fine but noticed 2 things. the relay that was clicking when replaced did same thing. I started checking the actual fuse holder on the bcm. the pins where the fuses go into. everyone besides the spares worked fine. The only one i found that didnt do anything is the 15a LT park. This spot didn't read postive or ground on testing. The RT Park one did. Is this possibly the issue?

Also Checked Engine grounds and looked over all conections.

The lights do turn on for about 2mins. then the relay slowly stops clicking and the lights turn off.

Any ideas? BCM? Short in wire? act of god?

Act of God on just one car? ok so we know that it is not first thing first disconnect the ground cable at the battery clean the battery terminals and the post with a wire brush and do the same to the battery ground cable going to the engine block, now reconnect the cables this will stop all the clickings and all sorts of act of God!!.

Check that the fuse is not blown and that there is no wiring fault. Otherwise check that the lights are not blown as well, and look at the following YT video to illustrate the removal of the light:

I had similar problem with Durango and replaced the "brain" with a refurbished PCM -- google for reburbished PCMs and call the Florida Company and ask they guys there what they think. My fix was < $300.00 by replacing the brain.

Replacement of belt tensioner

Hello
Welcome to FY,
Your tensioner is replaced as a unit,
remove the belt.
there is a nut 15mm that holds the tensioner to the engine, the tensioner and pulley comes off together the new one will have a pulley on it too, install the ne one the same as the old one came off. i would replace the belt too.

No Parking Lights,No Tail Lights and no dashboard lights awhile ago they would come on and go out intermittently when the headlight switch in either in the parking light position or headlights on position,...

Replace the fuse in the fusebox inside your car. can usually be found under the dashboard in foot pedal area. I had this same problem and a couple of fuses fixed it right away.

99 dodge caravan parking lights stay on after engine is off.

I had the same problem on my Chrysler Sebring but it was with the headlights staying on. The lights are on a relay called a "delay relay" of which will allow the lights to stay on for a minute after shutting off the ignition (after using your lights let's say when its dark). This of course helps provide light for you to see to walk to your house, keys, etc. But sometimes these relays stick on and just need to be replaced.

a little trick for you, take the bolt loose or out, start the engine and put it in reverse. the engine will rock back, set the parking brake and pull out the old mount!
