Re: 2000 4RUNNER LIMITED LOCKS ? CAN THEY BE PROGRAMED
If a vehicle has manual locks that means, to make it power locks you will have to install power locks motors on all doors, and change all of the door panels with switches and get a power box, for the operation of the door locks, and it will have to be wired to the fuse box.....
My suggestion, go buy a truck with power locks....

easy one... many cars have the option of programing the lock sequence. Your manual (if you own one) shows you how to reset or program door locks. Someone may have press and held the lock switch in one direction for a short while which will put it program mode. If you dont have the manual you can try to hold the lock button torward lock for about 5-10 sec. You should hear a tone, then try pressing the switch again to reset.
Automatic door locks on the 2001 Sonata doesn't exist. The doors are locked manually (by the driver) or by using the Keless Remote. To answer your question, YES, there is a separate relay for each function .. this means there is a relay which LOCKS the doors, and there is a separate relay which UNLOCKS the doors. They are located side-by-side on the I/P junction box (I/P = Instrument Panel).
They are both labeled "Lock", but one "UNLOCKS" while the other one 'LOCKS'.
Hope this helps.
Your book should give you program options for the door locks If your fob wont work either you got a relay for the door lock bad it is located in the fuse panel push the door lock button and find the one that is clicking

Place the key in the ignition and cycle the key from the OFF to the ON position for a total of 4 to 5 times, ending in the ON position, do not start the engine. 3. Press the driver's side power lock switch to LOCK the doors within 30 seconds of cycling the key. 4. You will hear a single chime when programming is complete. 5.
