1992 ISUZU RODEO CLUTCH PROBLEM

Replaced clutch, master and slave, bleed clutch and works fine for a day or two then won't go into gear unless stopped and engine turned off. Figure air is getting in somehow but there does not seem to be any fluid leaking out. Have replaced master and slave twice, thinking they might be defective but keep having same problem. Any ideas?

Could also be the host/tube connecting the master and slave together. Could be a small hole that sucks in air when you let off the clutch and pushing the fluid out on to a host that is so dirty or in such a dark place that you can't see the fluid seeping out on the hose

Good Luck

1992 isuzu trooper, clutch is not building enough psi to work the clutch, Bled the lines very little psi ???

you need to bleed it some more. Don't forget you have a master and a slave. The slave is the pain. My shortcut to bleeding it is to loosen the bleeder screw and compress the plunger. Make sure you got plenty of fluid close the screw and release the plunger. Then bleed normally. Also make sure your master and slave cylinders are working properly

How do you know if it is your clutch, clutch linkage, or clutch slave cylinder is the cause of vehicle non performance?

confirm if you have fluid leak from master or slave cylinder of if you have damp valve.try to bleed as it is to confirm the fault. If fault does not resolved then check as some times the cause is the damp valve does not allow fluid to flow through to slave cylinder. If your clutch master cylinder is ok, and the slave cylinder as well, start the bleeding by the damp valve which is on the mid way of master and salave cylinders. Then beed the slave cylinder for good clutch.

Given what you're describing, I'd say that you air in the hydraulic system. Did you bench bleed the master and slave before installing them? If you can get a hold of a vacuum bleeder, you can simply do a fluid flush/exchange using it. Good luck! Sometimes getting those pockets of air out can be quite time consuming!

Manual transmission wont go into gear unless engine is off. Starts fine, air runs. Feels like it is locked out of gear. Don't know if it is clutch or transmission

if you have to shut off the car to get it in gear then you either need to adjust the clutch or repair the slave cylinder.check your fluid level for the clutch, owners manual will tell you how.

Soft clutch 1992 isuzu rodeo

If the seals around the shafts of master and slave are tight, they may be concealing a leak with fluid bypassing the piston seals internal to the two assemblies. Either your master or slave cylinders need to be replaced ot have new seals installed. Once you find the culprit and have installed a replacement, you will have to bleed the lines to evacuate air trap in the lines.

my rodeo had the same problem i corrected it by bleeding the slave cylinder. and is located on the driver side on the gearbox you will find it if you follow the line from the master cylinder down to the gearbox and if that helps but happens again it might have to be replaced.
