Question about 1999 Jeep Cherokee
ENGINE DIES WHILE DRIVING. GAUGES FALL OFF AND I'M FORCED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINE AND WAITING FOR A FEW SECONDS THE ENGINE WILL RESTART. THE ENGINE LITE WILL COME ON AND REMAIN ON UNTILL I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT COULD BE THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR. WHERE IS IT AND HOW DO I FIX IT? CAN YOU SHOW ME A PICTURE?
The crank sensor is in the lower passenger side of the block....a cam sensor can also cause this...it would be wise to have someone pull the codes from the pcm...it could save you a lot of money and headache....most parts stores do it for free
