I just replaced the 1-2 , 2-3, shift solenoids on my 2003 trailblazer. Prior to changing these solenoids I had 1st and 2nd gear and reverse, but now I have nothing, won't go into gear at all,is th

I lost 3rd and drive very suddenly, by this I mean it would start from start and go through 1st and second but when trying to go to third it would just rev and drop back into second. I figured before I replaced the tranny I would try replacing the shift solenoids. After replacing them I get nothing no reverse no 1st 2nd, 3rd, drive, or reverse. Its like there is no signal going to the tranny. any suggestion other than replacing the entire transmission?

No gears indicates that the torque converter clutch servo/solenoid s faulty
probably a disconnected wire from your working with the others

SOURCE: 1st and 2nd shift error on code reader in trans

Shift error codes are enabled not only if the solonoids are faulty, does your scanner show you the solonoids switching? you could have a wiring fault. It could also be the pcm not allowing the solonoids to activate. These complicated systems are very difficult to diagnose for us profesionals with all the scanners and machines we have. Find a transmission shop in your area with a system to drive the vehicle bypassing the computor system, this will determine electrical or internal trans failure. But before you do anything check your conections from the transmission to the pcm. Also all the engine conectors and earth straps.

You most likely have a broken sunshell inside the transmission. They tend to go out when the transmission is shifted to drive when while still rolling in reverse.

I don't think that you can trouble shoot your solenoid without a scanner. AAmco advertises on TV that they will check it for free. When you performed the service was the oil dark or smell kind of burnt? Was there excessive sediment or chunks in the bottom of the pan? If so you may have bigger problems other than a solenoid.

Your transmission is electronically controlled by the engine computer (that's what the "e" at the end of the trans designation means) Wiring and shift solenoids need to be tested before going deeper into the unit. If you find any debris in the pan though then forget testing as metal and clutch material can and will contaminate the solenoids but the cause of the debris is worn clutches and hard parts.
