Question about 1990 Ford F150

F150 fuel pump replacement

My truck wont start from time to time and am would like a seco My tuck won’t start from time to time. I think it’s the fuel pump but want to have a second opinion. It won’t start at times and then if I let it sit for a while it will start later on. If I do multiple starts at close proximity to each other the second or third attempt it will not start. This morning it would not start first attempt and still wont start. I checked the pressure on passenger side line before and had fuel come out. This morning there was no fuel for the first time. It turns over great and wants to get going but wont start. I would like to know what you think before I start draining my tank and taking it down. Could it be a bad filter or old plugs wires etc? If it is the pump what else should I change while I am in there just the pump or the whole assembly?
nd opinion

You could have rust in your gas tank, what will happen if that is the case is crank and run and when the rust gets stirred up it will clog your pump and filter. After a while it will kill your pump, and ruin your filter, and cause it not to crank at all. I would drain the tank and look at the fuel as it comes out if it has any red in it that is your problem. I had the same problem and that sounds just like my problem. I hope that helps you out.

I have a 95 honda civic ex,wont start.ran fine yesterday,wont start this morning.battery is fully charged,new cap and rotor.would do u think might b my problem

if it wont turn over 1st check the ground s on the car and the battery 1st. your battery can be fully charged and the car will not start even over night this can happen. then look at the starter. Note: if you have over 109K on the car and the timing belt has never been replaced you will need to have this checked as well.

1991 ford f150 fuel problem

Is it possible the fuel hoses are not hooked up right ? If you only changed the rear pump and the lines are correct, its possible the new pump damaged the check valve in the front pump. The valve could have been about to fail before replacing the rear pump.
You may be able to block the line going into the front tank and run the truck from just the rear tank.

1990 f150 302 v8 5.0 sputtered and died and now wont start. What could be the problem?

Turn the ignition switch to run, without starting it. You should hear the electric fuel pump, in the gas tank, run for about 3 to 4 seconds, until it builds to proper pressure. If it is not humming along it needs replaced.

1990 f150, 302engine, cranks but wont start. have spark at all plugs, 45 pounds gas pressure at fuel rail. any ideas

Hi Patrick, Your problem sounds as if it is connected to a mal function of the injection system. I think you should try replacing the fuel filter and if that does not have the desired effect, replace the fuel pump. The reading you're reporting is a little on the low side. The requirements of your vehicle should be about one third more than you report. Regards John

fuel pump should only run for about 15 seconds when u first turn the key on now you should check to see if the fuel filter is clogged or your sending unit might be bad on the fuel pump itself

the automatic gas shut off switch is located in the trunk tucked up under the wheel well I think on the left side for that car. you need to feel around for it and press a button on it to reset it.
