I bought a used ford escape and I am looking for the factory reset code
On my 2010 ford escape XLT i found the keyless entry code printed on a label on the smart junction box which is inside the center console. To get to the smart junction box follow these instructions.
1. with a non-marring tool(i used a putty knike wrapped in plastic wrap), pry up the chrome trim piece around the shifter.
2. Remove the storage tray from underneath the center console armrest and leave the armrest cover open.
3. Grab the center console finish panel near the cupholders and pull straight up.
4. Pull the finish panel up and back then set it aside.
5. The smart junction box is to the right and slightly ahead of the gear shifter. There should be a label with a bar code that says FoMoCo. In the corner of this label is a 5 digit number. This is the factory code.
Hope this helps.
The instructions were perfect to a T....now I need to figur out how to program the actually key...This save me time and money...Thanks so appreciative !
The door code for my 2012 Escape was inside the console. Let's see if these pictures show. Otherwise, go to www.escape-city.com and do a search for code or zeeverthttp://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/Zee...http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y48/Zee...
I had to go up and under the passenger dashboard behind the glove compartment for the sticker with the code on the fuse box for my 2013 Escape SE. The first time I tried it I was literally upside down in the passenger seat trying to Cirque de Sole my 6’3” self to see it with my own two eyes….spoiler alert, that didn’t work AT ALL. So a year and a half later (from when I purchased the vehicle and was inverted in the passenger seat) I tried again but did something I should have done the first time..I took my cell phone and recorded a video of everything underneath the dash and I got the code and reset the keyless entry. I’m so happy I did because I use it so much more than I ever thought I would. It comes in handy when I start the car in the summer/winter to get the air conditioning/heater going.

You will need a 5-digit key code before you can start locking and unlocking the vehicle.
For brand new vehicles, the factory key code is provided in the vehicle's key tag.
Step 1: Place the first key into the ignition, turning it on and off before pulling it out.
Step 2: Insert the second key and turn it on.
Step 3: Your Ford Escape door code will be displayed on the dashboard.
For vehicles with previous owners, requesting the factory code from the past owner is suggested so you can reset the entry code.
