Question about 1999 Ford Explorer
If you possibly had an aftermarket radio installed, have them check how it was wired in. If that's not the case, look under dash to make sure the brake pedal arm had not rubbed into a wire harness.

The wiring for the dome light, door ajar and radio is most likely crossed with the brake light wires causeing it to turn off power or on when pressing the brakes giving electricity to the lights and then it could be cutting off the power to the radio
