My belt is off and the bolt that loosens the tensioner is very hard to get to. It will turn one way but not the other. Is all the adjusting from this one bolt or is it spring loaded like some other tensioners? I am about to blow up my Chrysler because this thing is so hard to get loose. Help me!

There is a tensioner, you use a ratchet to overcome the spring and get the belt off.

How do i change the cerpintine belt?

There should be a routing diagram under the hood. Put a wrench on the tensioner pulley (the one with the spring in/on it) to release the pressure on the belt. Remove the belt. Follow the routing diagram, put the wrench back on the tensioner pulley apply pressure to get the belt back on. (to give you enough room to get the belt back on all of the pulleys)

Serpentine belt not not lining up with driveshaft pully. bottem pully

I am not familar with your particular vehicle so what I provide is general guidance. I am addressing this for a serpentine belt (not to be confused with a timing belt). If you removed any of the pulleys in replacing the belt check and make sure you put the pulley on correctly. It is not that difficult to reverse a pulley when putting it on. If you losened a pulley or tensioner then go back to those pulleys and make sure the pulley is lying flat against its mount. Take a look at which pulley is out of allignment compared to the others. The one pulley that is out of allignment is where your problem is. If you did not remove or losen any pulleys (only losened a tensioner) in pulling the belt just go ahead and put the belt back on and see what happens. If it was a timing belt you were talking about you would never just try putting it on as poping a serpentine belt is not a big deal but pop a timing belt can ruing your engine.

Cerpintine belt came loose again

The serpentine belt can come off if the self adjuster is not working, or has not been adjusted.

I would buy a new belt, free up the adjuster and fit the new belt to the correct tension.

If it slips again, it may be an alignment problem.

Serpentine belt

you put the belt on by putting a rachet on the tensioner pully and it only goes one way and that will losen the belt so you can slide it on the last pully prolly best one for last is the alternator pully and after it is on you let go of the tensioner pull and it will tighten right up
