Question about 1993 Buick Skylark

93 BUICK SKYLARK WIRING PROBLEMS

I have replaced the electric ignition switch twice in the last 4 months. When I replaced the switch the first time, my a/c would not turn off when I turned the car off. This killed my battery and caused me to replace the ignition switch again. This time, my alarm (the "dinging" sound) stays on even when I close my door. Also, my aftermarket radio stopped working. I rewired the system and got the radio to work by connecting the switched 12volt wire and the constant 12volt wire with the yellow wire and red wire on the cd player wire harness. It worked for a while, but now my ABS light stays on and the radio will not power up. PLEASE HELP

1998 chevy astrovan mil inspection failure

We had this same problem with a 1997 Z71. After putting 3 ignition switches in it in 6 months, We finally figured out that every time we used the 4 wheel Low side of transfer case the ignition would go out immediately. The electric motor that engaged the transfer case was bad & would short out ignition every time we used 4 wheel low. It was VERY expensive to repair. I fixed ignition one last time and got rid of it. Good Luck.

95 suburban, ignition locks, can't turn key,

Remove the lower steering column cover and check to see if the rod from the ign. lock and tumbler to the ignition switch is binding up. If it's ok, you're problem may be the bearing under the steering wheel being broken.

Kia Sportage stopped running While driving

Sounds like the catalytic converter may be bad.
But could be an electrical issue as well.

Please rate this a fixya

Sluggish Transmission on 1997 Chevy S-10

Here's the information on your trouble codes (which explains the problem you're having).

P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction
P0753 Shift Solenoid A Electrical
P0758 Shift Solenoid B Electrical
P0785 Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction
P1860 TCC PWM Solenoid circuit electrical

The good news is that it is an electrical problem rather than a mechanical problem. So, you should be able to get the problem taken care of without removing the transmission. The bad news is, you'll probably have to take it to a tranny shop to get the electrical bug worked out (unless you have the knowledge/equipment to test each of the electronic components of the tranny).

Hope this helps and good luck!

Ignition problem/electrical

You need to replace the the actuator parts that go from the ignition lock cylinder to the switch they are inside the steering column, this is a very hard job and not for the do it yourself mechanic, there is the issue of the air bag be dis-armed for one, if you don't dis-arm it correctly and it goes off you will have a real bad day, and perhaps your last.
