I own an 1982 RX7 that has been modified with a 13B 6 street ported engine mated to a 1984 non-turbo transmission and running a Centerforce II clutch.
Lately when I shift gears under high speeds the tach seems to over-rev, meaning that the RPMs shoot up when I shift gears. Is it the clutch wearing out and causing it to slip, hence giving me that over-reving? Please help. Thanks

The clutch on this model is a hydraulic clutch. Its not that big of a deal, probably out of fluid. The clutch Master Cylinder in found under the hood directly in front of the driver. It the one that is up higher, the other one is the brake master cylider. Start here. Check your fluid level, if it is too low, you just need to fill it up with DOT3 brake fluid and bleed the slave cylinder, just follow the line, it leads right to the slave cylinder on the transmission. All of this is accessible from the top of the car, there is a bleeder screw on the side of the slave cylinder. Make sure to check the line that there is no leaks, most likely you need to order a clutch slave cyliner kit at checker, and replace the parts inside the slave cylinder. This is all pretty easy to do, and once the lines are free of air and everything, your clutch should work great.

Seriously? I can't hardly understand what you are trying to say because your spelling and grammar are so terrible. Fix the leaks and bleed all the air out. If this doesn't fix it and you have already repaired/replaced the slave cylinder, it could be that the master cylinder is bad, and needs to be replaced. If you aren't sure how to do this stuff, you may need to take it to a mechanic. Have you ever bled hydraulic lines before?

I'll say though that it seems that your new slave cylinder has not been properly bled of air... or the bleeder screw was not tightened. If you can see a leak, then that is your definate problem.. get that fixed. Its a pretty short hydraulic system, so it's not hard to figure out where the fluid is leaking to.

Your clutch slave cylinder could be bad and leaking, here's a picture of it,it's bolted to the side of transmission, has a bleeder screw on it for bleeding.Normally, your fluid shouldn't be low, here's how to replace.

Clutch Problems with my rx7

More than Likely your clutch reservoir is low on fluid and has leaked all the fluid out so check that first if the reservoir is empty then fill it with brake fluid. Then it will need to be bleed if you don't know how it would be better to take it to a mechanic. Let me know if you want to try it and I will help you.
