Code 303 is a miss or lack of power on cylinder 3. If you know for a fact that cylinder is getting spark it could be an injector problem.
Code 420 means the catalytic converter is not performing up to standard which could be several things including the miss on cyl 3.
p0171 = fuel system too lean, this means vacuum leak or faulty oxygen sensor
p0303 = cylinder 3 misfire
p0325 = knock sensor malfunction.
p0303 and p0325 - i can see these working together, if a cylinder misfires, it will cause the knock sensor to trip. I would lean towards the coil and or ignition module, along with a faulty oxygen sensor.
that code is not a sensor code that is a missfire code , you have a miss fire in cylinder number 3 , check you spark plugs or coil for that cylinder , with that code car will run rough ( shaking ) and some time the car wont even start in small engine . let me know hosw it gos
2. Vacuum leak
3. Injector fault
4. High or low fuel pressure. Thats the list of things to check. This is a #3 cylinder misfire. There is also TSB about #3 injector needing added heat protection. This could definitely be the cause. I start at plugs and go from there. Hope this helps. Thank you, Lee
The Specific code "P0303" is stating that the Third Cylinder or Cylinder number 3 Is mis-firing, thanks to all that you have done this has narrowed it down to two "confirmed" possible problems;
The first is that the Exhaust VALVE itself may be "Burned" and the Second may be a Poor condition or "Faulty" Catalytic converter(s).
This is only a possible cause but please keep in mind that on some certain models (not too sure about this specific model) there are multiple O2 Sensors located in different spots. (usually in or next to the preliminary and primary catalytic converts)
Also one of my experiences lead me to beleive that the Ignition Control Module (ICM) may be faulty causing the injector to not provide proper Fuel to the Cylinder.which will more often than not cause the computer chip to sense the misfiring as opposed to the bad signal from the ICM.
Hello I need a help. I have 1999 lincoln town car 4.6L V8.They have check engine light on. P 0303 cylinder 3 missfire. I was changed spark plugs,fuel filter. check compression test 150psi. fuel pressuer 50. swiching cylinder 1 to 3 fuel injector and coil. but they still have engine code
