Actually, the problem was a bad bulb that wasn't obvious, PLUS>>>>>> the positive wire to every bulb socket(?) had a small exposed area just as it came into the unit that was rusted. We sand-papered the spots, sprayed a drop of WD_40, and life is good!!

thank you all for your help!!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!

rear door overhead lights doesn't come on neither does the map light in rear view

At night the back left lights are lit up, but the LED light in the rear as well as the right side lights are out until I step on the brakes then they are all functional. All bulbs are fine because they all lit up once you step on the brakes. What could be causing this issue?

Wire supplying ground power to the lanp scoket is spring connection. Dur to both elements being on at the same time causes the connection to over heat. This heats up the spring acusing a pore connection. As time goes by, the problem is agravated until it opens.

Solution: Remove bulb socket. Remove wire,( Brown, two each). Clean wire contact. re streach spring. clean base contact with a small screw driver. Re-insert and apply white lithilum grease. Should work for a while. I have nor foung a direct replacement for the socket. it is rather flat and anither replacement may not fit in the housing.

No brake, turn signal, or flashers at rear of 2006 chevy express 2500

Sounds like a bad turn signal switch. I bet if you wiggle the turn signal lever while you have your foot on the brake pedal the left and right brake lights ill intermittently work.

The printed circuit board that the bulbs push into needs replacement. Any autoparts store will have it. It just screws into tailight assembly & attaches to wiring harness.

Running light problem on chevy express 3500 box van

Vehicle electric trouble shooting is the worst. Some of the problems you described the bulbs may have multiple filiments with only some burned out. It may sound silly but change the bulbs. Get a couple of new bulbs and try them in the different spots. Time, road vibrations and spring pressure causes the contacts on the bulbs to wear until they get a poor connection then you get a little arcing that build up a residue and a bulb that test good doesn't work.
Your on the right track with the ground wire. Try a test lamp with a good gound connection and test the different sockets, if your test light works but your bulb doesn't you have a ground fault. If neither work check the switch and fuse before you start tracing the wiring. These are just general trouble shooting tips It's very hard to trouble shoot electrical problems sight unseen.

How to replace brake light in 2008 chevy express cargo van

You have to remove the upper applique to remove the tail lamp, it is the trim panel above the lamp. I think it is held in place by two nuts/bolts but not sure. You have to have the rear doors open to remove it

Reverse and interior lights out, chevy express van

Fuse block under the hood. Driver's side, under the brake master cylinder. Number 18. TCB#2. Replace the fuse.

There is an under-engineered ground in the reverse circuit. If you back up with the dome lights on, it could blow that fuse. There should be some extra fuses under the cover of the fuse block.

I have A 2000 Chevy 3500 Express Van and the brake

Hi,

When you said that you checked the brake switch, did you check it live? Meaning verified live power to the switch, press switch, and then power came out the other terminal?

If so, also verify zero power on brake press, at the offending brake light bulb terminal. You must verify the test light each time you move it...leave running lights on...

After verifying that there is no power coming, after the brake is pressed, note the wire color and find it where it comes to the steering column and test there... This would eliminate wires and connections between front and the rear of the vehicle, unlikely, but needs to be tested.

After verifying no power at that terminal, then yes the t/s switch is certainly suspece. This may be the time to get a mechanic to verify and replace the switch, there are locks, tilt mechanisms, air bags, column bearings, etc involved. Failures risk loss of vehicle control (locking or binding for example.)..

Hope this gets you going in the right direction.

I have a99 Express 12 pass. van i get backfire and lack of pickup until i get to about 40mph sometimes and then others times it just runs fine.

2002 Chevy Express Van>>>>with headlights off--the rear left taillight works, but no right. When the brakes are stepped on, both taillights don't work. Also, the little lights under the back doors are out. Also, some lights are dim>>rear only.
