Bout this 93' econoline van off a guy, he said it needed a heater hose. ?!? The guy changed the motor to a 351 cleavland but the heater core/blower looks original. I had the heater core replaced two years ago and it worked just ok at first. Now it's not working at all. The temp gauge on the dash almost always says the engine is running cool but now and then it will show the temp up to about three quarters, then it will go back down. Any idea what's happening here?

Make sure that you have 2 heater hoses going into the dash. These are 5/8" hoses coming from the water pump and going into the top of the engine. The 2 hoses go through the firewall into the heater core. If you don't have the 2 hoses going to the heater core, the previous owner may have it routing itself back to the engine. It the hoses are routed back to the engine, there's a chance of the heater core being bad as well and this is why it's by-passed.

There is no heat blowing ou of the vens on my van

The water must be able to circulate and there are three main things to stop this from happening.Heater core blockage, thermostat and water pump.
After checking those you must look at the controls under the dash to see if a dampener door is remaining closed. The doors will shut off the heater core from air circulation when using the air conditioning and vice versa. After starting the van switch the controls for temperature from cold to hot and listen for the door to open and close. That's where I would start. Also you have a Heater Control Valve that shuts off all hot water from entering your heater core.If this valve is closed you would get no to very little heat. It's located in the heater hose from the intake to your heater core.

Does a 93 econoline passenge van typically have a rear heater.

Yes it does have a heater core. Depending on options and series the core will be on passenger side behind the dash or under hood on passenger side. Just look for your heater hoses and follow them and they will lead you right to it. If you have any trouble let me know and I'll get info you need.

1989 BRONCO XLT WITH A 5.8 351 CLEAVLAND

The Bronco did come with the 5.8L. It's a 351 Windsor though. Ford quit making the Cleveland engine back in '74. You should have a vacuum diagram under the hood of your truck.
