Key trouble my problem isn't really mechanical at all. i have lost my key...straight up gone. i need a new one, but with its "high security" status and all...i can't get a rough estimate on a qoute for the price of a new key made. btw, i own a 1999 vw passat 1.8t. do you have advice on where i could get the cheapest price for a new key made for my car?

You'd have to go to a dealership for it, if you have no other keys. If your Passat is like my Audi A4, you have a laser cut key that is "different" than most keys. If you have no key for the car currently, you'll have to go to a dealer with your title and VIN number. They'll be able to make you a new one from the proper master key. If you have another key that you can use, you can buy a blank replacement on eBay for much less, and have a locksmith with laser-cutting equipment do the cut. Several people I know have paid around $70 for a new key at a dealer, whereas those who could supply a second key to use to make a new one were able to buy the key blank online and have it cut at a locksmith's for $10-15.

I lost the keys to my 97 sunfire so I busted out the ignition now when I crank it it runs for a few seconds and shuts back off and the anti theft light flashes how can I fix this problemail myself?

My info shows you have passlock security system. The key is just a mechanical key, the key doesn't have a pellet or transponder. A locksmith should have been able to make you a new key and it should have worked fine. It's the tumbler that communicates with passlock, not the key.
Since you busted it, I doubt I can help. You need a new lock cylinder, probably a new passlock sensor, then you need to program it.

I lost the origninal keys and put in new ignition and now my car wont stay running how do i bypass security system

I think this job is too tedious to do here, so I suggest you call an oldsmobile dealership and ask to speak with a mechanic. Customer service can direct you to where you need to go. Sorry,

Car will not start security light blinks on and beeps when i try to start

The key has an RFID chip in it and it sounds like the car has either lost the program or the key has gone bad. If you have a second key, try that. If neither key works, you will need to take it to the Ford dealer or possibly a reputable locksmith to have the keys reprogrammed and possibly new keys.

I have a 2007 suzuki forenza it was having battery problems so i replaced the battery and the alternator but my car still won't start.

It is standard practice with lots of modern cars to leave the ignition key in and turned to the on position when connecting a battery as this helps prevent alarms sounding, immobilisers engaging and all sorts of inconvenient stuff happening. It is even better to use a memory saver while changing a battery so not even the radio code and stations are lost.

You didn't say how long you have owned the car. If it was a recent purchase it should have been returned to the dealer as soon as you realised the battery was faulty. There is such a thing as warranty and consumer rights. The dealer certainly should not have sold the car with a defective seatbelt.

It certainly seems like the security system is activated though the presence of the key in the ignition should deactivate it if it is working ok so maybe it is broken or maybe it has forgotten the correct code and needs reprogramming.

It is possibly a coincidence and there is a fault, perhaps caused by the first mechanic. Before towing the car to the Suzuki dealer or calling for an autolocksmith it would be a good idea to physically check voltages, wiring, the presence of fuel and injection pulses, spark and suchlike. If all seems well under the bonnet the chances of an immobiliser malfunction are quite high. Reading the vehicle handbook is always a good place to begin.

You have to rule out the security system? When it refuses to start is there a security lamp on the dash that is on or flashing?
With passlock security, the key doesn't have a pellet or transponder, it is the tumblr that communicates with security system. The hall effect sensor surrounds the key cylinder. The most common fault is loose wiring at the sensor.
Passlock is usually only fuel injector disable. Can you check for applicable trouble codes? To check codes, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader that will check manufacturer specific codes as well as p0 codes.
If you can rule out security system we check other possible issues.

Cheapest way would be to really look for a locksmith that can either reproduce your original keys manually(handmade) or through machine that can regenerate your original keys otherwise you'll have to replace new sets of door keys locking mechanism and new set of ignition switch that may be adopted to your steering columns locking devices.
