I need the firing order for a 1985 dodge 350


Are you sure it's a 350 Dodge? I wasn't aware they made one...

However, the firing order every chrysler V8 I'm aware of is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2. Looking from the front of the engine, the odd numbered cylinders are on your right, starting with 1 at the front, while the even numbered cylinders are on your left, starting with 2 at the front
Small block Chrysler v8's have the distributor located towards the back of the engine, the rotor turns clockwise and port one is the one closest to the front of the engine, while the big block engines have the distributor near the front, with number 1 being the port closest to cylinder number 2, and they rotate anti-clockwise

I'm looking for a sparkplug firing order for a 350 small block, how can I get one


Distributor turns counter clockwise and firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Should also be stamped on intake manifold in front of carb.

Firing order on a 305 on the cap. Got the wires all messed up...


This method is good for the firing order on all chevy small block v8 engines from 265 cubic inches to 400 cubic inches. This would include 265, 283, 305, 327, 350, 400 cu. in. chevy small block v8 engines.

Let's cover some safety concerns first. If you try to troubleshoot a mixed up firing order with the engine running, you could be in for a serious shock,.. literally. You can do it, with certain precautions, but you really don't need to check the firing order with the engine running. You definitely don't want to try checking the firing order if you are wearing any kind of pacemaker or sensitive electromechanical prosthesis. The voltage coming out of the ignition coil is in the thousands. Common sense dictates that you wouldn't stick a knife in an electrical outlet, so you wouldn't want to take chances with being shocked by the electrical discharge from your classic chevy's ignition coil either. The insertion position of each spark plug wire around the circumference of the distributor cap can be found according to a clock face. The insertion sequence determines the firing order. The firing order is followed clockwise around the distributor cap starting from the 6:30 position with the 6:30 position being the number one cylinder spark plug wire.

On classic chevy small block engines that use ignition breaker points instead of electronic ignitions, the number one cylinder is the one immediately clockwise of the small metal sash cover on the distributor cap. The firing order starts here. There is no sash cover on the distributor cap for GM HEI electronic ignitions, and the firing order is the same, but starting at the 5:30 position.
The firing order makes sense if you know how the cylinders are numbered. The number one cylinder is the front most on the drivers side and 2 being the front most on the passenger side. From front to back, the cylinders are odd numbered on the drivers side, and even numbered on the passenger side.

I took of*** my spark plug wires working on my small block 350 pickup and I don't remember the the firing order to put the new wires back on. Is there a diagram anywhere or is it even that difficult to...


Next time number each lead before you remove it and no. the dissy cap as well

You need to be sure you continue the firing order in the clockwise direction around the chevy small block distributor cap from the last installed spark plug wire. Setting the rest of the firing order is just a matter of repetition. Be sure to count the spark plugs from front to back on each side of the motor to identify the correct cylinder number in the firing order.

You can look up firing order or get me the engine size so I can help you. Also is your van a 1999 or 1984 1 ton?
Your parts store has your firing order.
Next time do 1 at a time so not to mix up the wires.
30+ years ago I did the same thing I learned the hard way too. Once you get the firing order and start position line up your wires short to the front and longer to the back on a 84 v8 with a distributor. E-350 could have a small or big block V-8 or a 6 cylinder

What are the timing specs for a 1968 small block chevrolet 350


With vacuum line disconnected to distributor, use a timing light and set the timing by turning distributor to 8 deg before tdc. firing order is 18436572. hope this helps

Is the firing ordor the same as a chevy 1500 for an 89 chevy blazer


If they are small block V8's the firing order is 15836572.
305 or 350 the same order.
