Check your ECM fuse. There should be 2 fuses for your ECM. It's the ECM that controls the function of the fuel pump. Good luck friend and it's also common for the wire harness from the frame to the fuel pump to go bad due to corrosion from the bad weather we get in the winter and rainy spring and fall.
SOURCE: how do i check the fuel pump relay and the fuel
The fuel pump relay should have a schematic on it so you can check it with an ohm meter for a short. If it checks ok and when you turn the key on, you do not hear the pump then replace the pump
SOURCE: 1997 yukon, keep blowing ECM - 1, 20 amp fuse
i would check wire harness for bare wire but first i would look under that massive fuse box under hood, i kept blowing air cond relay and i traced it back to corroded connection on that fuse. not saying this is it and i hope it is that simple for you. other than that research exactly what the ecm-1 CONTROLS and search, test, grounds those systems. If i can come across any other symptoms i will forward them to you.

Hi. The answer to your question will be yes. You will need to drop the tank to expose the fuel module. It is a all in one assembly and it is inside the tank. You will need a cam lock tool to remove the ring that holds the module in place. You can purchase the tool at auto-zone.
