I have a 2000 crysler cirrus lxi. It used to drive. It drove fine for a while then started to bog down. We would cut it off and restart it and it would run fine for up to 2 miles and do it again. We replaced the electronic distributer and now it won't start. Need help here.

SOURCE: engine will turn over freely

see if the cam is turning when trying to start the engine (look through the oil filler cap) if its not, you may have a broken timing belt (and engine damage) if it wasn't empty on the fuel gauge I doubt it ran out of gas.

sounds like the cooling fan(s) are not working. possible a disconnected plug near radiator . my guess is the mech forgot to plug it back in. check around the radiator for any plugs that are just hanging loose . also check the fuses . there may be one for cooling fan and see if it is burned out.
