I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherolee Limited. I am constantly having to add power steering fluid, and the steering squeals real bad, until i put in more fluid. I cannot tell that I have a leak.

You just can not see it but you have a leak.

most likely would be the discharge hose of the pump. Trace the hose from the pump to the horizontal piece where the steering column is attached and look for oily marks. you may need to replace the hose. then there is this return hose as well that would need to be checked. it may have some leaks to from loose fitings or old hoses that would cracked due to heat and stress.

belts squeal for only 2 reason
it's bad. the belt.
or the accessorym it drives is Seized.

i guess you never head of a 5buck stethoscope
and listen to the accessory bearings, ah, alternator front and rear
i hear, front crying for help. easy as child play.
sold everywhere cars parts are sold.

there is no need to guess, , answer use tools.
this was true in 1920 and now, belts then and now all can squeal.
in the old days we had many belts and could drop them

Front of car squeals when turning .Feels like a tire was wobbly going on the highway. Real screachy sound ....any idea what may be going on it or possibilities ???

There are several possible causes, varying in severity, that could be responsible:

  • Lack of power steering fluid
  • Bad or worn serpentine belt - would slip when turning causing a squeal and/or difficulty steering
  • Bad wheel bearings - this would cause the wheel to wobble, and squeal on turns
  • Bad ball joint(s)
  • Bad steering box

I have a 2002 audi a6 3.0L and i recently replaced the power steering pump and it worked great for the first week now it's making a bad whining noise and sometimes the ps goes out and then comes back

These are real bad about having bad pumps, and bad leaking hoses. Make sure you still have good fluid and no leaks. Most likely it just drained again through a bad hose. If good fluid then pump is bad again. If your steering rack was bad it would be leaking real bad as well.

The belt in my 01 Dodge Dakota squeals badly. Started when I had my power steering pump replaced. I tried changing the belt and the tensioner, but still squeals. Is it possible the pulley on the power...

excess mechanical drag from the pump can cause the belt to slip and squeal, but before focusing on the pump I'd check the condition, tension and alignment of the belt. I might even try cleaning all the pulleys with an aerosol brake cleaner and install a new belt, particularly if the current one has more than 50,000 miles on it. It might be that the squeal is coming from or caused by a different belt-driven accessory.
A more typical noise from a power-steering pump is a high-pitched whine, not a squeal. Usually, if the steering wheel is stationary, meaning that the steering rack is not "asking" for assistance from the high-pressure fluid from the pump, there's little or no noise

My 2001 toyota tacoma is squealing nonstop and i think the powersteering pump is bad is this correct

I'm inclined to believe that your power steering pump is low on fluid or bad.

Squealing can come from any belt slipping or an accessory like the power steering pump being worn out.

Good luck, to you.

Clicking/Squealing When Turning Wheel

Could be two problems. First the power steering; Check the tension of the drive belt for the power steering and the condition of the belt. If that appears to be OK, check the level of the fluid and its condition or apperance compared to new fluid that is recomended by the manufacturer. If that appears OK, it could possibly be the power steering pump it self. Second the clicking; It is most likely a bad CV (constant velocity) axle. Good Luck.

Noise when I turn my steering wheel.

If there is fluid in the pump and it makes noise, that may indicate that the pump is going bad. Some PS pumps just make noise. Ford pumps, for example make a lot of noise, and there is nothing wrong with them. If it's a squeal, it might mean the bearings in the pump are going bad.
