You can find kit at www.fiesta-tech.co.uk or Search for on ebay "Saab Automatic shift cable bushing repair kit" That kit resolved same issue on my car.

You have to push your shift override button? Your cable that runs from your ignition/steering column to your shift knob could be worn and therefore loose not allowing the car the be shifted out of park (as if your key weren't in the ignition). Hope this helps

I have a 1997 Saab se turbo 2.0 the check gearbox light comes on then a week or so later will go out any help would be great thanks keith

Check engine and check gearbox on an automatic...neutral safety switch is going out. First couple starts like that and it seems like it's in limp home mode...it is. A few more starts and it will reset itself. Mine did so reliably at the 5th restart until I changed it.

Get a used on if you can, they are not really rebuildable reliably. Pain to change, it's under the battery tray and miserable to get to.

Hi I have a 1998 mitsubshi galant and about two weeks ago the gears stuck on 3rd and wont swicth even when I turn off the engine and restart..

You have a bad throttle position sensor which is mounted on the throttle body. Pretty easy to replace, just note the position of the old one. It's secured by two small bolts. The part is usually special order and costs about $110.

GEAR STUCK ON PARK AND WON'T MOVE

I think your brake shift interlock solenoid is not releasing the Park position when you apply the brake.

Check for a blown fuse first. see owner manual for location of fuse.

Also, check owner manual for how to manually bypass the interlock.

When you step on the brake pedal, it activates a solenoid that unlocks the shift linkage cable so it will move. It is a safety feature to ensure you have you foot on the brake and not the gas, as you shift out of park.

please rate highly if this helps.

Bucking when revs hit 2000 in every gear?

Hi the car may have been run low on fuel and sucked some of the dirt that builds up in the fuel tank to the fuel filter starving the car of fuel when its looking for more

Solution.... change the fuel filter and we can go from there

Hope this helps

Ignition switch on my 1987 Saab 900i

You may need to remove the ignition housing assembly to find out whats wrong inside. There are a series of small gears which connect the ignition barrel to the ignition switch & also operate the reverse gear lock mechanism. You'll need a special 3 pronged tool to remove the assembly - available from SAAB dealers.
