Engine turning dut not firing - XJ8 Jaguar Cars & Trucks

Yeah!! I know. My old but lovely 1998 XJ8 started the other day then stopped 10 Secs later. I was told maybe it`s the nickasil bores going home. Rubbish!! The car has covered 97000 miles, burns no oil, never smokes at all and has never missed a beat until this. The problem seems to be overfuelling when cold starting on a cold day. Charge your battery up fully. Leave the car for 12 hours. Put your foot to the floor and turn the key. Usually the car will splutter a bit then start. Run it for a few miles to get fully up to temperature. You should be OK now. I`m not, so the garage will fit a new set of plugs and get it going for me hopefully. Hope this helps. Good Luck, MIKE.

Can't git engine to fire know fire from coil.

Rechk plugs firing order. chk soliniod and coil r ok, rechk fuel is getting into engine- choking usually determines that, u can smell the over choked engine. I f engine turning & choked hold throtel to floor while cranking and leave there until it fires. if no firing happends it must be electrical. rechk electrical connections. Cheers

1996 breeze wont start, no sp[ark, car lost power and died ,then would not start, checked fuel okey

try to check and make sure that the dowel which keep the cam connected to the cam gear has not sheared causing the cam to have shifted two or more notches not allow engine to start this is to protect the valves from hitting top of the pistons. . it will shut down the coil pack which may only have fire on possibly 2 cylinder usually 1and 4 hope this will help!! had same prob with my 2.0 plymouth went crazy buying all these parts and changing fuel filter you will most likely need a new camshaft .due to the dowel hole being wollowed out. dut othe shearing.
