Which fan are you referring to, the electric fans for the cooling system, or the air blower fan inside the car as part of the climate control?

I have just picked up a 2.0 ltr, petrol, 2003 Audi A4 Avant. I have noticed that at around 2000 rpm i some times get a slight missfire. There is a very slight judder and then all is well again. It's going...

Have them check or replace TPS (throttle positioning sensor) Ot's basically a rheostat that controls throttle as you step on pedal. After time they develop "hot spots" or wear at certain spots that are used regularly. They stumble when TPS has a hot spot.

What should i expect to pay to have my timing belt replaced?

Including the new tensioners £250 I had mine done about 6 weeks ago but I also got a water pump at the same time. If you are doing it anyhow then do get new tensioners and replace the water pump they commonly fail on the 20v engine and most times thats the engine finished.

Hope this helps. Also I did not use my local audi garage as they wanted £350 and everytime it go's to audi it develops new problems when I get it back somehow my bill at audi is always over £500.

Hope this helps

Audi a4 problem

I had a similar problem on my Audi A4 1.8T after three seperate trips to different garages I was told I needed a new ignition and it could only be re-coded at an Audi dealer - was told it would cost in the region of £500. As the car was not worth much more than this I did a little research myself and found that the ignition key may have been intermittenly losing its code (as sometimes the car would start ok) I had a new key cut at my local key specialist at a cost of £20 and its been fine ever since (that was over 2 years ago)
Hope this helps

Audi a4 2002 radiator fan keeps randomly starting

it could be a faulty fan switch, or faulty engine coolant temp sensor or a faulty fan relay

2003 Audi A4 Cabriolet ...cooling fans come on at start up

Yes this car should have a temperature sending unit that tells the fans to kick on. If it has two fans one of them is for you Air-condiontion, and it will turn on whenever the ac is being ran. One other possibility is if you bought the audi used the owner before you may have hard wired the fan to run whenever the car ignition is turned on. The only reason someone would do that is if they were to lazy to fix it properly.

Audi a4 fan comes on as soon as turn ignition. Had bother sensors replaced & relay & wiring checked - ok

Is this a problem ? Do you mean the cooling fan in the engine ? As long as it does not stop running altogether it should not be a problem.if it's not the cooling fan, then I don't have an answer.
