Question about 1996 Pontiac Grand Am

My 96 Grand Am wont start but it makes noise

My 96 Grand Am will not start! It makes a noise but wont start. We just replaced the Clutch kit, Clutch line, and Hub a month ago. We replaced the starter about 3 months ago. We had fuel injector electrical problems and the replaced that about 6 months ago. I'm so sick of this car!!!!!!!!!! We checked the fuel pump and we hear it coming on. We haven't changed the spark plugs in forever but would it not start at all because of that? I don't want to start replacing ****. I'm sick of towing my dang car to the mechanic!! If I took it to him he can tell me the problem in 5 minutes but than I'm stuck. He won't get parts he makes me get them!!!!!! Whats wrong with this piece of S@#$!!!

Check all the ignition supply wires and yes the plugs could be the problem if you had an injector problem it could have fouled out some plugs

The clutch release bearing I think is going out in my 96 Dakota can I just change it and what does changing it intail

removal of the gearbox required
you can replace just the bearing
but because it is a lot of work
it is better to fit the complete clutch kit

LUBE VERY FRONT OF A/C COMPRESSOR (CLUTCH) WITH PENETRATING LUBE. A/C CLUTCH SHOULD CYCLE ON & OFF (MOVE IN AND OUT)WHILE A/C IS ON..IF NOT YOUR COMPRESSOR IS SHOT!

Van wont start, loud, has a burning smell and the oil light is on

I'd feel best if you can find a reputable mec and have it looked at. There are a mess of things that can make loud noise. You could have anything from a bad berring to a blown engine. When your'e on the road remember go to someone who is reccomended or a national chain or dealer..

A/C compressor clutch on my 1994 3.1 L Grand AM

You could just do the clutch ,but it could be something else and not the compressor making noise.

96 pontiac sunfire wont start.....

Starter solenoid , or wire that leads to it.

Also , if standard transmission , may be the switch on clutch pedal is intermitant.

Engine won't turn over unless it thinks you have your foot on the clutch.

98 grand am grinding/ A/C Compressor???

hi yes it sounds like the clutch or the bearing the job is not bad to do if you just do the clutch you will not loose any freeon if you replace the compressor you will need to have it recharged. as for used there is usuraly no gurantee that it will work.your best bet is to go with a rebuilt or new. you will have to replace the compressor oil and freeon.
