My understanding is the switch operates the highest fan speed. The reostat/relay/resistor runs the three lowest speeds. My highest speed didn't work, and the parts guy misinformed me, and sold me the relay...put it in, no luck, now have to go back and buy the switch too. Fortuneately, it will be solved for under $50 in parts.

Te most likely solution is the blower motor resistor since it still works on one speed.

make sure nobody is stealing you gas, check for leaks, keep you foot off the gas pedal, turn off your air conditioning whenever possible. Don't speed. Otherwise, new plugs and a tune up may help.

My air condition does not work at all and the heat only works on high what could that be?

Two separate issues...but the heat only working on high is caused by a bad blower motor resistor.

Air conditioning works on high level

Replace power module. Its under the hood. In the air duct up against the firewalll. About 12" to the left of the blower motor. Has 2 connectors on top. Its black. May be hard to notice. Probably have to remove cross brace to get at.it. Then remove 3 screws and pull it out. Put in new one. Reattach brace

Heating and air conditioning

The blower motor works on high setting ONLY when the blower resistor is bad. The blower motor resistor is held in place with 2 screws and attached into the heater housing under the right side of the dashboard. You can identify the resistor by the big wires that are connected to the connector. If this heating/cooling system is the auto temp type, the part is a bit high on the price.

Your problem here is the heater speed control module under the dash, replace this or look it up on how to and you will be good to go, I would tell you how but each box is located in different spots and different ways to take them off on different cars!! PLEASE rate me !!

Air conditioning

Unless you mistyped, you are talking about two different things.

Coolant and topping it off, has nothing to do with your AC. Coolant is what keeps your engine from overheating.

Your AC probably needs to be recharged and checked for leaks. Bring the car to an AC shop and they should be able to help you out.

If your AC checks out fine, I'd start by looking under the dash. There's a possibility that the flap that moves when you switch from heat to cool is stuck in the heat position.
