The manual says to make sure it is out of gear and press the clutch in an out twice. It will go into reverse then. I have the same problem occasionally with my '03 Spyder. Works every time.

Water in the storage area behind the seats in my 2003 MR2 Spyder. Has convertible. I believe the drains might be plugged but don't know where the drains to check!

There is a couple of plastic pieces you need to remove inside the storage bins. Two side pieces to be exact, just a couple of pins. Here is a link to more detailed instructions.

Cruise control in my 2003 mr2 spyder suddenly went out

check the fuse for the cruise control from the driver side located on the left side of the dashborad. Make sure the fuse is not blown out.
If it bad, change it out but make sure it is the same rated fuse.

Good luck

sounds more like one of your trans solenoids have gone bad. Could be an internal trans clutch issue but not likely

Selector window goes blank.unable to change gears

is the problem happened after the start up engine?
or it is from the time you just put the key into the ignition and turn the key on ?

More info would be helpful to solve the problem.

use only OEM Toyota trans fluid. If there is one lesson I learned with my MR2, its that Toyotas own trans fluid is the best. Yes, its a few dollars more, use it anyway.

As for your top, there is a product called Amazing Roll off. Its for boat canvases and its simply the best thing i've ever used. try it, you wont be disappointed.

MR2 after 2 mins of starting the smt light comes on.

it sounds like the clutch actuator is worn out.
The clutch actuator has 2 parts:
1. the clutch master cylinder
2. the clutch slave cylinder.

Try to replace the slave cylinder first, and if it is still not solving the problem, then try to replace the clutch master cylinder

Good Luck
