Question about 1998 Audi A6

Audi v6 2.8l (AAH) warm misfire at idle

I have a misfire issue when the engine is warm and at idle. The warmer the engine gets the worse the misfire gets. I have checked and there are no fault codes (it's a 1993, non-OBD-II ECU) I'm running 98 Octane fuel. I have changed plugs, leads, and swapped the injectors with those from another 2.8l. The cam timing is fine (checked with factory tool).

Any ideas guys?

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

I have a 2003 audi a4 cabriolet 2.4 petrol and it is misfiring, coil pack has been changed twice now, spark plugs have also been changed, oil has been changed and it is still misfiring? It is on and off,...

when its mis-firing it is surley putting engine management light on so get codes read.
also when mis-firing need to check to make sure injectors pulsing usually done with magnistick light. if one not working could be injector or feed/earth from engine ecm. also remove and check continuity of coil packs incase another gone faulty.

Have a 2000 Audi A4 Turbo 1.8. Put vacum gauge on engine and vacum readings jump around???

Weak valves springs, bad valve seat sealing, lean mixture, air leaks or misfire..

Reading should be steady 15 to 17 in. at idle 800rpm warm.

this is going to sound crazy BUT i would (and have) take your car to a skoda dealer, labour cost 1/2 that of audi(i worked for audi for 11 years)and the parts are out of the same box.have you replaced H.T.leads as thet are carbon fibre and can cause the same symptoms.also ask to speak to audi area technical manager when next in your area.he is factory trained.

Those are cylinder misfire codes. PO300 is random misfires (meaning 1+ cylinders misfired) and the other 2 codes are for cylinder #1 and 2. Did you change the ignition coils yet on 1 and 2?

Do you let the tank go to empty before refueling a lot?

My 2002 taurus dohc runs rough at idle, worse if i turn ac on!

The a/c makes it worse because you are asking the engine to pull a load missing one cylinder. If you have alternate transport or like working on a hot engine you can take number 3 wire to the autoparts and get one wire to match length. You may want 1 plug in case wire doesn't help.

2004 F150 5.4L engine misfire

The concern is likely caused by the coil which sits on top of the spark plug. Your P0301 indicated misfire on cylinder 1. Your P0316 indicated it occurs on the first 1000 revolutions. Your P0171 indicated lean on bank one. Bank one includes cylinders 1,2,3 and 4. Your lean code is strange but could be related to misfire. I would recommend swap the coil on number one with number two. Clear the code and drive it. I would expect to see a P0302 which indicates the misfire traveled with bad coil. good luck.
