Question about 2002 Ford Explorer
We have a 2002 Ford Explorer 6 cylinder. About 2 weeks ago this problem just started off as a slight sputter but has gotten progressively worse. Now when the car is in motion it seems to be jerking constantly. The only time it stops is if the car hits 55 MPH or more.
We are afraid it might be the transmission as the truck has 160,000 miles on it, but neither the check engine light nor the O/D light are coming on. Any ideas???
Does the jerking feel like a fish bite ( especially when pulling a hill?) if so it may need plugs and wires
if you have one bad plug wire the problem seems to smooth out at higher speeds
Hope this helps
