I have the exact same problem as the previous people. I just got back from Auto Zone and I have no manual. My dad and I also weren't able to find the transmission fluid stick. So where should I check the transmission fluid????

I put the car in reverse and it seems to trigger this as well. I have a box with an X show up and the check engine light comes on. It seems as if the car won't change into 3rd gear, but some time the car drives with no problems at all. I called the dealership and they said it could be a rain censor?? I guess I'll just have to go up there and see what codes the car is giving off. Oh by the way the car doesn't have a dipstick the filler plug is on the transmission under the car. There is no way to check this accept through this.

I have the same problem with mine. The guy at Autozone had no idea what it was either/ The codes that came up were P0705-Trans Range Sensor Cicuit malfunction and P0700 Trans Control System Malfunction..He said it MAY be a problem with the fluids not getting to the transmission enough. I looked in my manual..and that icon isnt in it.

I actually have a lot of the problems that are on here. My low beams just went out. I changed the bulbs. I couldnt get it out of park the other morning. I had to pump the brake numerous times to get it out. It is at almost 3 RPMs before it will start rolling. I have had this car for about 5 days and Have taken it back to the dealership 3 times. I am fed up with it already. The reviews are TERRIBLE. I wold not recommend it to anyone.

I have a 2006 suzuki forenza and i am having a simliar problem. first the check engine light came on for two weeks straight. i thought it was because i needed an oil change, but now i know that has nothing to do with it. so i got an oil change, and THEN the box with the x on it has come on about 5 times and it scares me. it slips or disengages, and the gas petal wont work. it basically sounds like when you press the gas petal when its on neutral. its done this to me both going uphill and downhill. i pull over, turn off the car, then turn it on. then it works fine for the rest of the drive home. but it does it again every few days... my uncle knows cars and he is telling me that the transmission fluid can only be checked by jacking up the car and going under. basically this is "sealed" so that you have to take it in to get it filled/checked. I am going to take it to the dealership tomorrow and see what they say.

I went to autozone, the guys pulls up codes for every car but suzuki. He said I would have to call dealership to find out which auto I need to look at as they are interchangeable. Does this sound right?

The transmision range sensor is the problem basically when it is faulty it sends false gear signals to the ecu the ecu gets the trouble code from the trans ecu and you r trans goes into fail safe mode causing it to only operate in third gear which would cause the very slow acceleration where it seems like its in nuetral basically you need to replace your trans range sensor

Run a test on the engine control computer and see what the code(s) are stored. The indicator you mention I have no clue, have you checked the owners manual? We have no automotive tech material at fixya, still to new a service.

The car was hestitating so I changed the fuel filter and now the check engine light is on. Why is the check engine light on?

Bad gas isn't too likely

Sea Foam is a waste of your money

You don't diagnose & make repairs by adding
a Genie in a bottle

You have an OBD Check Light on,so why have you
not retrieved the codes & diagnosed from there?

If you run the fuel pump dry you can ruin that
It depends on fuel to cool & lube it

Fuel filters don't fix a thing either, they filter fuel & last 3 to
6 years with todays plastic fuel tanks that have little debris
vs the old steel tanks of 30 years ago

Once you get the codes you will find you have cylinder misfires,
bad ignition coils
The oxygen sensors get replaced at 100,000 miles, that is another
item
Have to clean the MAF Senser at least once a year

Need to do some studying

2003 dodge caravan 3.3 flex fuel hestitates while driving, and has little power. New plugs, and fuel filter. Put on machine and shows no errors, but the engine light stays on.

if the check engine light is on then there is a code and you may have to have one of the other computers checked for a code as another one could set the light on for example the tcm(transmission computer module).sometimes a fault won`t show but a problem is there in which case you will have to check it initially the old fashioned way, then proceed from there.

Check engine light comes on the car is hestitating

The information below was complied by me, it explains what causes the check engine light to come on and the process of finding the cause.

When the Check Engine light is turned on the computer control unit (called the PCM) has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system. When this happens you will seldom feel the car engine run any different. There are about 200 possible faults that turn the Check Engine light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen and Autozone parts stores do this testing for free.

Hestitation on start, takes second time two start. also hestitation on take-off.

Check the fuel filter to see if the fuel filter is restricted, then have the fuel pressure checked to make sure it is enough. If there is a code in the computer then there will be a check engine light on,have the codes read, this will help diagnose the problem.

Startup hestitation, check engine light 2006 Ion3

Since your "check engine" light is on you can get a free scan at Autozone or Oreillys. They can sell you a part and may have a diagram about where it fits. Just speculating it may be a coolant temperature sensor.

It sounds like you are not getting into the Cold Start mode.

Engine hestitation, 2000 subaru forester

I think these codes are indicating a fault with your catalytic converter. The 02 sensors are each not returning the correct values to the ECM, causing a "suspect the 02 sensors" fault code.

Can't get check engine light off

Take your car to Auto Zone and have then run a FREE SCAN to your computer in your car. If something comes up that is wrong they will tell you what is needed. If nothing comes up have them clear the codes from your cars computer

I have a 2008 Expedition EL, 5.4L. There is a hesitation (miss) in the engine. At times it is fairly mild while other times a little rough. It is more noticeable when stopped at a red light or stop sign....
