Problem fixed, the hard line was rusted thru in a few places, that explains some problems I have been having with the coolant system, with winter coming up I'm glad it is repaired, thanks betz73

There is a hard line on the back side of the engine block and the hard line sometimes cracks. i would check that line and see if it is leaking. If is not that hard line check your heater core hoses.

01 durango leakiing coolant nea trans and inside of vehicle

Leaking inside sounds like the heater core. If the core is broke right where the heater hoses connect, it might be losing coolant down both sides of firewall, inside and outside. Otherwise, look for a leak at the intake manifold. That might run down back of engine near the transmission, as you indicated.
Good luck.

I HAVE ANITFREEZE LEAKS FROM MY 2000 CHEVY S10 BLAZER. IT'S HARD TO TELL BUT THE LEAK SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM UNDER THE MOTOR RATHER THAN FROM THE RADIATOR OR ANY HOSE I CAN SEE.

a common V6 failure is the intake manifold gasket. coolant will usually leak behind the water pump on the drivers side, however it can leak at other locations on the intake manifold gasket.

coolant leaks from other areas include the heater core, hoses, expansion plugs, trans cooler, and coolant overflow tank.

I have a pink fluid leak that looks like its coming from above the trans, where would this leak be coming from?

do you have a 3.1 or a 3.4 liter V-6?

If so my first guess is that the lower intake gaskets are leaking. These are very common to fail on these motors. If you look under the thermostat housing ad see a pool of red coolant, Or you see the trail of coolant if you look down back behind the throttle body than that will usually confirm the problem.

You can also have leaking throttle body heater hoses, Or the hoses to the heater core may be leaking as well.

I have a 1994 chevy corsica..The coolant is leaking out from a hose by the fan..how do i check to see where the leak is coming from

Some parts houses will rent coolant pressure tester,Sometimes for free with refundable deposit. pressurize system at radiator cap with radiator and reservoir full. Look for white residue from dried coolant. You will probably need to look in the area where you see coolant leaking. Most likely you will find a hose leaking , could possibly be leaking from radiator

Trace the wire from the coolant fan motor back a ways. More than likely it's located behind the grille on a support near the radiator, between the radiator and the grille.
