I have a 1996 mustang 3.8 with 5 speed. it turns over,getting fuel,getting spark,but it will not start

Its getting fuel..it has spark. if i spray starter fluid it runs as well..but dies soon after the fluid runs out. so i got spark and fuel...still wont start. i tried resetting the fuel pump using the reset switch as well. no fuses ar burnt out. this is a 'new' motor i replaced with only 1000 miles on it .

I have a 96 mustang with the 3.8 engine it will turn over but won't start it had a lot of gas in the oil when I bought the car eney ideal as to what can be wrong

I know you said you had spark to one plug but it sure sounds like a spark issue - especially since there was fuel in the oil. I'd re-check spark at the coil and all the plugs. Remember you only need fuel, air and spark for the engine to run. A tune up won't hurt either.

Turns over will not start

do you have spark at spark plugs, have you checked fuel pressure, could spray some carb. cleaner in intake and see if it will run then on carb cleaner but be carefull, if engine backfires could catch on fire so be prepared.

1996 4.3 wont start. Turns over, Spark OK, fuel 55psi

Fuel pressure is a little low. Will it start with a couple shots of carb spray in the throttle body? If it does and continues to run than the fuel pump is not providing enough pressure to to open the mechanical poppet valves on the end of the injectors. minimum fuel pressure is 58 psi. One PSI below spec is enough to make it not start.

Also check to make sure there is spark at each cylinder. just because there is spark at the ignition coil does not mean it is getting the the spark plugs. you may have a bad cap or a rotor that is burned through.

Won't start, engine turns over fine but doesn't fire

First determine if spark or fuel.
One way to do that is try starting fluid spray.
If it even sputters, then you know the spark is ok.

1986 Mustang 5.0 wont stay running very long with loss of power

it sounds like a stun gun?? you are losing spark, get it in a dark place or at night and look under the hood for the lost spark, spray water on the cap and wires, youll find it

check to see if it has a goo spark first it may have a coil problem the spark needs to be bright blue not yellow and it should be able to jump a gap of at least 1.1cm / 1/3" if the spark is good check the spark plugs are they wet the car may be over fueling eg. the fuel presser reg may be flooding the engine let me no how you go and i can try to advise you from hear

Car ran fine one day, not it will crank but not

Your fuel system requires 35-45 PSI. If you don't have this pressure in the line then your fuel filter or fuel pump is at fault.

My car want start seams like its out of timing

You need to check quite a few things to diagnose this. First is it getting spark? To check this, spray starting fluid in the intake while someone turns the car over (be careful don't spray too much) If it starts your not getting fuel (fuel filter, Fuel pump) If it doesn't start your not getting spark (Cap, rotor, coil) Hope this helps.

Have spark,no fire, sprayed starter fluid into throtle body but does not start

Turn key forward listen for the fuel pump to pressurize if you don't here anything then your fuel pump needs replaced and it's in the tank.
