Check the alternator it supplies juice to the battery while running all the electrical needs for your car if your alternator is fine you might have a dead cell in your battery.take it to an auto supply store and have it checked out usually it's free.

Have you checked your "knock sensor" or cam sensor? It tracks cam and or crank movement for timing.

Car randomly won't start

first thing to do is to add a relay in your starter. relay should be connected to the solenoid of your starter then giving it addition amperes to let the starter motor running.

if adding a relay does not do the trick. replace the carbons bushings in your starter.

another problem should be your ignition timing. if you are experiencing hard starting only when the engine is hot, then your ignition timing is overly advanced.

How do you access bolts to starter ?

You'll need to block the rear tires and jack the car front end up on a hard surface and set it on jack stands. Then you get to crawl under the vehicle.

If the starter/solenoid is new/replaced, most likely the cable from the battery to the solenoid needs replacing or the connection ends saned and cleaned for a good electrical contact, Also chek the gound wire connections (if any)

1998 Nissian Altima Not starting

Nothing by either party was said about the starter. The battery and wires can all be in great shape, and if they are and the owner hears a clicking noise when trying to start it its a pretty good bet they may have a starter that's locked up.

One good 'ole trick on those starters. If you can reach the starter, a couple of sharp rapes with a hammer will have it starting again, then you know it time to replace the starter.
